No need to pull him into CECIL, but feel welcome to keep an eye out for him. (I want to keep my third potential CECIL slot for a potentially better character later on.)
Citizen “Sup R-HRO” - time-displaced from Alpha Complex by the R&D department.
Death to Commie Mutant Traitors! Viva Friend Computer!
Of course! Citizen Sup wears the latest R&D-designed Red armor, emblazoned with his clone number in Black, the only other major color featured, which is, of course, beneath his security clearance.
Just a reminder for you all: please for Pleonast’s sake, find our solely-CECIL board and our picture gallery that you can all upload all you want to, for I am a generous soul, it’s linked at the very top of Pleonast’s CECIL listing, and here. We have a character sheet/story thread there, which Pleonast gets information from. We do a lot of other stuff. And who doesn’t love a few hundred screenshots?
Since not everyone reads Toaster’s CoH dedicated board:
We are currently attempting Positron’s Task Force. We barely scratched the first mission last night, so idon’t think we’d lose too much if we restarted. I want to make sure eveyone on the SDMB has a chance to get in.
Positron’s Task Force is for levels 10-15. All the baddies are level 15, so I would recommend a starting point of level 12-13, unless you really like pain. I suppose a level 10 bubble or healing defender would be able to take part, since you wouldn’t actually have to shoot baddies.
Anyhow, if you’re interested, send Master Electric a /tell tonight between 8:30 9:00 EDT. If there’s enough interest and the rest of the team is agreeable, we’ll invite you in and restart the Task Force.
Soon, soon I will qualify for Task Force Missions… the Shadow Stranger is level 9… woo!
How deadly is Perez Park for a lone 9th level character, by the by? I have two “Kill 10” missions in there, and I don’t want to be instantly overwhelmed.
And allow me to introduce yet another new character, my 4th on Virtue, and likely final for a while : the White-Russian. (Hyphen added because the unhyphenated form was taken by some plebe merely making the alcohol reference, no doubt.)
The Russian is based on a superhero NPC in one of my own roleplaying game campaigns - Born in 1909, he had been mutated in the womb by exotic radiation from the mysterious Tunguska blast. He’s essentially a Superman type… IE : Tanker Invulnerability/Superstrength.
Unfortunately, none of the chest symbols was a small unadorned star or a hammer-and-sickle, but that’s okay.
PP is probably the easiest place to get a pick-up team. Most everyone there is either leveling, or hunting for the security chief.
Just head for the Atlas entrance, and click the “seek team” button on the Team menu on the chat window. Or better yet audit the twenty other heros hanging out there looking for teams.
IIRC, Shadow is a defender, so you’d probably be pretty popular.
Twelve or above. There’s rough spots at 10 and at 20 as you transition into new zones. Look me up tomorrow, and I’ll sidekick you around Steel Canyon, show you the sights.
Mutant Scrapper Stilleto has reached 30 ding ding Yay!
There are a lot of threads about how scrappers are gimped etc on the CoH boards. My experience has been that Stilleto didn’t really hit his stride till about level 24…and now, I solo a lot and my chances of dying are nil unless I hit the “toggle stupid” power in my brain.
Congrats! And here I was all excited for reaching level 17 with my Tank last night. Sigh. Now I have a 17 Tank, 11 Controller, 12 Controller, 12 Blaster, and a n00b 4 Blaster.
I’d create a new Scrapper, but I really don’t care for the power sets. Maybe with the new upgrade.
I’m trying to find enough to time to play, now that I am focusing on one character (Thermocline, my fire/ice blaster). I finally got him to 14 and Fly (and now 15 and the enhancement slots for Fly so I can use it for more than a minute or two without falling out of the sky when I run out of END).
I also have a 14 Defender, an 8 Controller, another Defender at 5, a Tanker at 5, a Scrapper at 3… must focus. Focus…
And, for anyone that’s interested in City of Heroes but intimidated by the prospect of all those high-level folks out there… be of good cheer, young Hero!
CoH has a simply awesome means of allowing heroes of any level to team with one another effectively. Even if you’re just starting out, one of the advanced folks can “sidekick” you, which is a temporary partnership (it lasts until either of you voluntarily leaves it) that gives the lower-level hero fighting powers, defenses, hit points and the like as if they were one level below the mentor.
So if I want to sample some of the higher-level stuff with Thermocline, who is level 15, I can partner up with Justice Blues, who is 20, and I act as a level 19 hero for the night. Or you can do it with a still-wet-behind-the-ears new hero, for that matter.
So if you’re interested in playing with C.E.C.I.L., just get yourself to the Virtue server and send a /tell to any of the heroes you find on our membership roster. We’d love to see you.
If only Fallout actually was more like a real AOE, instead of like a 5’ radius or something around the fallen. Something absurdly tiny that probably won’t even hit what killed the dead person, since if anything else is alive it’ll go chase after them. Presumably one day it’ll be upgraded to a good area and you’ll be glad you took it then, you’ll be one of few with it.
BTW, Justice Blues is 22, as is my Culex; my Drone 47303 is almost there, as is Zombie Man. We are the cat’s pajamas as a group. Slow as hell, but we don’t know the meaning of death. Except Zombie Man. 'Cause he’s, you know, dead.
Also, for new folk, a lot of us have low level alternate characters that aren’t in the supergroup, if you just ask, we’ll probably send them out to play. I have low level scrappers and defenders myself, generally 6 or less for all of them. I am not odd in this respect. Just pop online (somebody is online almost 24/7, even if it’s just me) and ask and often somebody can help you out, or help you help yourself to find out how to make teams and stuff.
Shoot, I could even be convinced to go out and create a brand new character to help out a new hero. I got open slots (now that I’ve killed a few of my underused characters.)
Look for me as Max Carnage, Clevlnd Steamer, or Mutha Nature in C.E.C.I.L., or Pestilenz or T-900 who are not CECILians, and I’ll be glad to help out.
I keep coming up with great silly ideas for characters, and typically I just put them on the back burner, because… I’m not sure how many characters each player is allowed. I’ve heard 8, but is that per server? overall?
