Shouldn’t that be Cecil’s Extraordinary Counter-Ignorance League.
Bahaha, I’ve done the same thing. You guys have met my alt, but you haven’t seen the 10 characters I’ve made and run through the tutorial to see if I like em. Especially for a game like this, where I have no idea what all the powers do.
So, I pre-order CoH to get into the Beta, which I did, and did enjoy.
But now, the actual game is being shipped to me by Best Buy late! According to the routing info on the web, it left the warehouse yesterday (Saturday). So much for pre-ordering.
So, hopefully, by Tuesday or Wednesday, I’ll be able to resurrect my mutant defender, Zombie Man, and join y’all. I got him up to ninth level through solo adventuring in the Beta (although, he’s now wiped from memory).
Mmm… brains. (Villianous ones only, of course.)
Peace.
Glad to hear it’s not just me who does that. I must’ve made at least 12 characters by this point, and I still can’t decide which one I like best.
What really bugs me are the characters who I like, but I decided halfway through the creation process to change their backstory in my head and forgot to make the changes in the game. I’ve got characters who I started out as “natural” in origin but decided halfway through to make them have big robot arms or ice powers or something, so the “natural” thing doesn’t make much sense anymore. It doesn’t have an impact on the game as far as I can tell, but I’m just anal-retentive enough that it bothers me.
Hopefully I’ll eventually get to play a character past level 3.
Oh, no, Sol. I ran Morelin nuts when we were playing DAoC, because I was trying out every race/class combination under the sun while she was patiently levelling her one character. I played Everquest for like 6 months and the highest any of my guys got was level 10, cause I had to keep trying things out.
I only have 4 so far. And 2 of them are on different servers. I have started a Natural Defender on Virtue, Air Goddess. Got her up to 7th level today. But I am sure I will start many more, or other servers just to try the characters. It is part of the fun.
Lok
I’m glad I’m not the only one, I need variety damnit! I usually piss off all my friends by having 5-20 characters and not leveling up very fast.
Um…no…that was…irony! Yeah! :smack:
I hated hated hated EQ. I love love LOVE CoH!
So far my two main characters are Max Carnage, science tanker, and Clevland Steamer (I think I spelled that right), tech blaster.
I’ve also made Nashville Kat, a defender, but he sucks.
I’ve seen some great costumes out there that mimic real comic characters, including Solar, Man of the Atom, and last night I saw a fantastic Optimus Prime!
Priam, I lost my group photo of the founding members of CECIL. Care to post yours somewhere?
Got Max up to level 10 last night! Now he has 4 different ways to punch your face in!
As per request: The Fearless Founders of C.E.C.I.L. in their SuperTeam colors.
From left to right according to memory: Frank N. Furter (Priam), Justice Blues (Lok), Ryle Dup, Max Carnage.
All bow and worship, yadda yadda…
I’ve got the try-out-different-characters bug too. I think I’ve made 7 so far on various servers.
The one I’ve played the most lately is Deus X, a Tech Tanker on Virtue. Got him up to level seven last night. He’s been hanging out in Kings Row mostly lately. I need to try to find some of the rest of you on-line.
How does the multiple instances of locations affect being able to locate each other. If I’m in Kings Row 3 and someone else is in Kings Row 1, can we find each other?
Also, how does combinding enhancements work? I’ve seen people talking about doing so but don’t know how to do it.
Yea, I made a Defender to play with and gave him the lightning shooting thing, but he sucked. Once he shot the lightning, he had to sit there getting smacked until he recovered. Wizard in Green can do the healing and mezz and do a little fighting with Levitate.
Besides, it’s just satisfying to pick your enemies up and smack them into the ground until dead.
Sweet! Catrin of Luclin (Katriona) is an ex-EQ guildmate of mine. I loaded up CoH Friday night and got exactly the same impression that she had. This has to be the smoothest launch ever for a MMORPG.
I’m currently playing around with the classes. If I settle on one, I’ll look you guys up. I take it that blue and white are the official colors for the super team?
tanstaafl, just give a /tell to one of Frank N. Furter (Priam), Justice Blues (Lok), Ryle Dup, Max Carnage. Or me Emerald Blade. We can add you to the supergroup.
If someone is in Kings Row 2 and another in Kings Row 3, you will not be able to find each other. Go to the monorail station (the T) and switch. As a rule of thumb, our group tends to stick to the highest number available.
To combine enhancements, just click on any enhancement (already attached to a power), then choose what to combine it with. Useful to increase the effect.
Hope to see more of you in game. It’s definitely more fun in a group.
Finally got that dad-blasted computer running somewhat smoothly. Bought the game this weekend and spent a few hours exploring last night. Very, very cool. I am lovin’ this game! Pretty sure I saw Super-Collider hanging around Freedom Court in Galaxy City, but I didn’t know it was Brainiac4 at the time.
Any way, for now I’m Steppin’ Razor, Magic Scrapper (Claws/Invulnerability). I think I just hit level 5. I’ll look you guys up in game very soon (although I’ll also be creating a million characters just to test out the powers and play with the costume creator.)
I’m not even playing yet, and already I don’t trust you. You Yendi, you.
Meant to mention: Lysander Thorne (my main) can do invites, too. Or could, unless one of the higher-ups changed it.
Update, just hit level 10 on my scrapper, so now I’ve got Ryle Dup lvl 10 Blaster and Ryle lvl 10 Scrapper.
Btw, if anyone needs any explaining of the game, please message me in game, I’ve been reading a lot about it and I can pretty much answer most of your questions.
I’ve got to say, this is the best MMORPG I’ve played yet, hunting is actually hilariously entertaining!
Indeed, there’s something tremendously satisfying about dropping a rifle grenade into a horde of baddies and watching them all fall down.
