My friend Ron created a FB page for our high school class reunion. I got his invitation and the group was then shown as ~25 people that seemed to be all Ron’s FB friends. I added 10-12 more contacts to the invite list from my friends. After a month the total number of “interested”, “going”, and “invited’ persons is almost the same.
This week I learned the names of two classmates described as “organizers” and Ron named himself the “publicity person”. The two organizers are not FB friends with me and not on the lists that I see. So, is there a privacy setting such that I can only see my friends and my inviter’s friends? Can this be changed by the group administrator? It seems to me that such a restriction will seriously dampen the group’s enthusiasm.
I’m surprised that MOST of the people in my class would still be this cliquish or complacent as to not spread the word AT ALL. :dubious:
The organizers ARE on Facebook but I am not friended with either of them. I don’t know their role in the FB group; I guessed Ron was the administrator.
I’m more curious about why other early invitees haven’t multiplied our group - or can I not see invitations they send to their friends?
Don’t think so. And I’m impressed that the three are all reputable people with professional experience - not flakes. Maybe most of us ARE still tied to high school cliques and waiting to see what the cool kids do. (that are now in their mid-50’s )
