Classic Rock songs you still crank up despite hearing them a zillion times.

The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin. That dirty, nasty bassline by JPJ makes me want to drop my panties, and I’m a straight man who doesn’t even wear panties.

That post (but not the poster) would let you! (Well, you know, 'cause I’m a dude, and all)

More “better loud” music: Tool, Helmet and AC/DC. Eric Sardinas, Indigenous, Big Head Todd.

And everything else.

Yes, yes, YES!!! (Not the band.)

Pretty much anything by Led Zeppelin.

Magic Carpet Ride and Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf.

Black Magic Woman by Santana.

Darkness, Darkness by The Youngbloods.

I’m Losing You, by Rare Earth.

Street Worm, by Spirit.

You Wreck Me, by Tom Petty. (Most anything by Petty, truth be told.)

No, Really! The band!

Put on The Yes Album, cue up Starship Troopers and TURN IT THE FUCK UP!

Saw Yes last Saturday, playing Fragile and Close to the Edge in their (is that right? there, they’re certainly don’t work  ) entirety. Plus some other stuff. No Jon Anderson, but the kid they found to fill in was pretty good. Same timbre. He did okay. And you could understand the lyrics, not that that is a good thing, necessarily.

Steve Howe is amazing. Chris Squire makes me look healthy. I drank way too much beer. Loved every second!

Yup. And, of course, the immortal Free Bird.

Also:

most Zeppelin–especially *Immigrant Song * and *Whole Lotta Love *

*Enter Sandman *–Metallica (too modern to be ‘Classic Rock’ but still awesome)

The Spirit of Radio by Rush.

Working Man by Rush.

Crazy Train by Ozzy.

It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll) by AC/DC.

“Like A Rolling Stone”

Ever heard the live version of Rebel Rebel from A Reality Tour? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF551z9KlA8

Love that version.

Yep, that’s good!

Radar Love - Golden Earring. Crankable at any time, but best if you’re driving. At night. On a long stretch of highway.

Poor Poor Pitiful Me - Warren Zevon

I Only Want to Be With You - Dusty Springfield

The Real Me - The Who. Filled with anger and aguish, and some simply outstanding bass and drums. This is my “mental floss” song. A couple of minutes of indulgence in self-pity loud enough to flush everything out of my brain so I can start on whatever unpleasant task is before me.

American Girl - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. You just have to beat on your steering wheel while you sing back-up (“Make it last all night!”), just like poor Catherine Martin.

Authority Song - John Mellencamp, which I maintain is still one of the most perfect Rock & Roll songs ever created.

Proud Mary. CCR. This was playing over the loudspeakers on the train the first time I traveled from Moscow to Leningrad in '75.

Legs. ZZ Top. Never fails to remind me of my favorite episode of St Elsewhere:

***Take It Easy***. The Eagles. One of the few really good memories I have of the '70s.

Born to be Wild. Steppenwolf.

Dancing in the Street. Martha and the Vandellas.

We Gotta Get Outta This Place I prefer The Angels’ version to that of The Animals’.

Have You Ever Seen the Rain? Also CCR.

I crank up the last four while I’m driving and imagine I’m leading a squadron of F-100s on an air strike. Yeah! :o

Oh, yeah! :o

Many of those already listed.

And Thin Lizzy’s Whiskey in the Jar.

And George Thorogood, anything.

Was that in English, or in a Russian translation?

I have SO many. Mostly from the 80’s, my heyday.

“I Can’t Go For That” and “Your Kiss Is On My List” by Hall and Oates.
“I Got A Line On You” by Spirit
“White Wedding” and “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol
“Oye Como Va” by Santana
“Real Wild Child” (?) - by Iggy Pop

Anything at all by Joan Jett. (just saw her at the State Fair, still rockin’, seemed to be having a good time!) In particular, “Do You Wanna Touch”

Oh. And “Head Like A Hole” by NIN. And I’m old enough to be Trent Reznor’s mom…:stuck_out_tongue:

White Rabbit and Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane (actually the entire album)
House of the Rising Sun
In La Gada de Vida (or however it is spelled)
Satisfaction by the Stones

I think “Gadda” has two d’s.
“House of the Rising Sun” is one of the most morose songs I’ve ever heard. I drew a special emoticon on the cover of my 45 rpm copy: a sad-faced, long-haired tearful young man. :frowning:

Neither of these get airplay, but

Be Careful With a Fool (Johnny Winter)
I’d Love to Change the World (Alvin Lee & Ten Years After)

Are full volume tunes for me

Deep Purple’s Lazy

Crank it every time I hear it
