Classic Rock songs you still crank up despite hearing them a zillion times.

The English original. They played an entire CCR album.

It’s sad to contemplate, but that song is nearly 25 years old now. sigh…and so am I. 25 years OLDER than I was then, I mean. :frowning:

I think it qualifies in a time sense, but not in a genre sense.

Many choices have already been taken for me. I am going to go with “Are You Experienced” by Jimi. That whole backtracking thing and arguably the most psychedelic guitar solo of all time just tears my face off every time.

Machine Head is the rockingest fucking album ever made. My brain reaches new pheromone levels when I hear any song from that album.

Machine Head and Abraxis, two all time great classic rock albums!

Not classic rock, but for some reason, the one I crank when it comes on the iPod is “Beach State Rocking” by Game Theory.

Also, “Thunder Road” by Springsteen (and yes, “Born to Run”).

And, because I like the bombastic, pretty much any Jim Steinman song, especially as done by Meatloaf.

One fine afternoon in March a number of years ago I found myself on a road trip through Texas. Garmin said I should take some asinine backwoods route for hundreds of miles to meet up with I-10 but I saw a more direct path and took it. Despite seeming to be a short cut it was beautiful country; rolling hills and barns and a lazy meandering road. As evening came I pulled into a town. The sign said La Grange. At that moment the radio started belting out “nana nah nah nah nah nanahh nana.” I cranked it up. It still makes me feel good just thinking about it  Really good. Almost high.

Bat Out Of Hell.

Ok, they’re not all Classic Rock … so sue me.

And I just picked an arbitrary place to stop because there are hundreds.

Also, with earbuds, I can always be cranked up as I wanna be.

Does Night Ranger’s “Sister Christian” count as classic rock? Cuz that gets cranked up whenever it comes on, especially when I’m in the car. Most of the rest of mine have already been mentioned. Layla, Separate Ways, Born to Run…

yes, I AM an old Fart, why do you ask? (or bother asking the obvious)

Not one single thing wrong with that, we were there when there was actual great music. I will add “Carry On”, “Wooden Ships”, and “Woodstock” - in fact, most of Crosby, Stills and Nash. Their harmonies, which I heard at an early age, are imprinted on my mind forever as voices of angels.

Add “59th Street Bridge Song” and “Cecilia” by Simon and Garfunkle. - most of S& G! Heaven. (can’t help but wonder if I’m sounding like Mom about Frank Sinatra or grandma about The Big Bands sound.)

How could I have forgotten The Doors?
Light My Fire
Moonlight Drive
Roadhouse Blues
Riders On The Storm

Personally, I did not care for Morrison’s persona, but shit, the** Doors **were the soundtrack to the late 60s, early seventies.

Edit to add: I’m listening (at full volume) to a cassette mix tape of the Doors that I recorded back in the early 90s.

Oh yeah, When The Music’s Over…one of my all time favorite Doors tunes.

When The Music’s Over

Yes, Mr. R. Hippie! And since you cut me some slack on Room to Move, maybe you let Song for You, by Leon Russell slide.

Also, White Bird, by It’s a Beautiful Day and Pearly Queen, by Traffic.

Harden My Heart by Quarterflash.

Find Another Fool by Quarterflash.

Fantasy by Aldo Nova

Thumbs up on Leon Russell!

Jon Butcher* Wishes*.

Have you ever seen the John Mayall 70th birthday concert?
Here’s a taste
