Back from the Auction - it went VERY well; and I won a Turbo Cooker. The hall was packed! We expect to have made well over $3K on this shindig - possibly more. It was fun and a couple of our new gals won some cool stuff - one of them won over $200 in the 50/50 raffle. Pictures tomorrow.

The french toast casserole is baking. Breakfast is gonna be gooooooooooood today. Yum. Then we go to the dump to get rid of a trailer load. Then to Lowe’s to load the trailer with wood and stuff, then home to work and await delivery of FCD’s shaper, because, well, ManLand doesn’t contain every tool known to man yet. :rolleyes:
It’s supposed to creep into the 90s today, but the basement is still cooler than the outside, so that’ll be nice. Plus we’ve got 2 dehumidifiers running to keep it dehumidified. And it’s actually quite clean down there - FCD spent 2 evenings this week tidying. So’s we can make another huge mess this weekend.
Nic, if no one else requests the votive holder as a first choice, it’ll be yours. Let that be a lesson to the rest of you - all ya gotta do is ask. Worst that can happen is I’ll say no. Then I’ll mock you mercilessly and secretly put you on my not-as-cool-as-the-rest-of-the-Cool-Kids-list. And I’ll make faces at you behind your back. But other than that… <snerk>
Seriously, I don’t care who gets how many - I just want to find happy homes for all the little bits of creativity. I’ve already donated 2 to an ASPCA auction, and any that aren’t claimed will probably meet similar fates.

Hi Cool Kids!!
DCI was a blast, saw a few of the Kid’s friends from high school that are doing the drum corps thing, that was nice. I got some pictures I’ll post later.
Then I stayed up late and drank ALL the beer. Yup, all of it. It’s gone, so don’t bother looking for it. I watched the end of Starship Trooper, then some more of one of the Star Trek movies that’s mysteriously appeared on my DVR.
Today is grocery shopping, going to buy Mai Tai mix for the golf outing Tuesday - the ladies sell $5 Mai Tais on the course for us. Then to HD for a coupla screen doors. When we bought the house last year, one of the freebies the builder throws in is a 4-hour session with a handyman. So we’re getting a couple screen doors put on, and the ceiling fan installed up in the vaulted ceiling in the Master Bedroom.

Last night’s technical school graduation for the niece went very well. Now she’s officially a dental assistant. The youngest grad was 17 and the oldest was 65. Quite the age spread, eh?
I’m going to have get myself cleaned up and head to the grocery store very shortly. I need to pick up the ingredients for my lasagne. After that, I guess I’m going to tow Mr. Taters around the lake. If the sun would come out, I’d take a try or ten on the wakeboard too.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for now.
Hahahah, the weathermen [del]guaranteed[/del] [del]promised[/del] said it would be 85 degrees and sunny today. Instead it’s pouring rain. I’m glad I didn’t make any plans!

I’ve actually been up quite a while and even got productive. I cleaned out two freezers and rearranged the stuff in a more orderly fashion. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. Oh well, if I can’t see ol’ you know who (dang work!) at least I can use my energy elsewhere.
Ima cruise the net for a bit and then I foresee nap time followed by some quality time in the pool. It’s hot (big surprise!) here today.

My plans for today include gasp shock horror ohthehumanity LAUNDRY. Woe is me! I’ve almost run out of the nicety-nice clothes I wear to work, so I need to wash the dirty ones or I won’t have enough to make it through next week. Other plans for today include lounging around, possibly getting a ride to a supermarket to restock, and joining my host family for their early Father’s Day dinner. Let the Saturday begin!

I’ve managed to take my shower, and now I’ve got dry my hair and put on my face.
If the sun breaks out, temps are supposed to reach the high sixties to low seventies by this afternoon. When the hell is our nice sunny weather going to get here? This has been one very cool June.
I suppose while I’m out picking up the stuff for the lasagne, I better pick up a six-pack to take out on the boat, along with some sannich material.
Once we get back from the lake, I need to clean the house. I’m thinking about steam cleaning our berber carpet and downstairs hallway. Those carpets are looking pretty icky, to me, anyway. I foresee a late night…sigh.
Afternoon. Time for chores, and then I go meet Mr. Lissar after his class and there’s a party at his godparents’ place. Driving Husband and Quasi-Daughter will be there, plus a whole lot of other interesting people. I’m trying to decide what to wear.
Aaagh! I just checked the weather, and it’s 31 with a humidex of 38! Time to seal all the windows and put the a/c on. Mr. Lissar installed it yesterday. The instruction manual didn’t say which direction any of the pieces were supposed to go in. It was fun.
I’m still bumming around. I need to make a quick grocery run sometime today, and if the pool is open, it would be a perfect swimming day.
I cannot get over the huge bed I’ve been sleeping in. It’s a king-size and you could fit several other people in it. I only take up one little bit of it all by myself.
Been up quite a while,having gone to brekkie, then Costco, Trader Joe’s,and the regular mundane grocery.
Pissed off my neighbor by taking a picture of her washing her car in the yard, which violates at least three provisions of the lease.
And, I’ll probably spend the rest of the day packing more [del]shit[/del] to move…

I found beer!!! The grocery store had some, I guess they had it hidden from me just for this occasion. 
Lunch break! We went to the dump with a bunch of junk to be dumped, then to Lowe’s for the supplies we need. We’ve done a little electrical work, and we’re putting up the last of the drywall in the studio. It doesn’t look like we’ve accomplished much because what we’ve been doing is just that sort of thing. But once the last 2 pieces of drywall are in place, I’ll mud, then start painting the block wall.
Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for the delivery of the shaper. All they said was “After 1” - that narrows it down, doesn’t it? <sigh>
Ehehe … er, well. Promise not to get mad at me? I didn’t make the comic, after all.

It’s finally raining! It’s been threatening for days. We got a good soaking, and expect more later.
I actually did some actual cleaning, for a change! I cleaned my bathroom, including tub, sink, and mirror, and the other bathroom’s tub.
I also made an awesome breakfast, and did the dishes.
I’m thawing pot roast to make stew with later.
I lead such an exciting life.
I quit. For today, anyway.
The sheetrock is up and the first coat of mud is on. The block wall is stripped of shelves and stuff and ready for paint. I just don’t have the energy to do it well, so I decided I’d attack it tomorrow. I did clean the deep sink and sweep up a bit. Plus, FCD’s shaper came around 3, so we had to stop and bring it down from the driveway. He’s been rearranging his shop, but from the sudden silence downstairs, I think he’s quitting, too.
He owes me dessert - maybe I’ll get dinner out of it, too!
