Cleavage....or the lack thereof

This is the first thread I’ve started, so go easy on me…

The breasts thread got me to thinking…
Why is it that ladies with larger breasts very seldom wear low-cut dresses and blouses? It seems that every deep vee neck dress or blouse is on a small-chested woman?

Do the “larger” ladies know they don’t have to show ANYTHING in order to get attention, or are they tired of having their bosums admired…

Inquiring minds and all that.

I guess my question should be:
do ladies with larger breasts tend to keep them under cover in order to “protect” them?

I don’t have big breasts, but I occasionally wear low cut blouses. I imagine that if I did have a big breasts, I wouldn’t wear my low cut tops out of concern for 1) things falling in, and 2) people looking down my shirt when I leaned over.

Not to say that those things don’t happen to women with less boobage (they most certainly do), but for women with big breasts, they’re probably more of an concern.

Moved to MPSIMS.

Feh. I am definately a large breatsed woman and I prefer v necked shirts to anything else.

My Mom told me once, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it.”

Wise woman, my Mom.

Besides, the SO likes looking down my shirts.

I guess smaller-boobed women wear low cut stuff because there’s little worry of falling out of the shirt, at that’s my reason. Also, many low cut things either require no bra or very strange backless-strapless-goes-round-the-waist-feels-like-a-corset type thingies. Since no bra is more comfortable than the alternative, I imagine that women with rather large breasts would avoid that situation.

I was just complaining about this!
I was buying clothes last weekend, and found this cute little V-necked shirt. Unfortunately, it was a small. The larger versions of the shirt were not V-necked. If you can’t fit into a size 12 or smaller, you’re stuck with what I call “granny clothes”. <tangent ahead> Oh, also if you wear anything larger than a size 12, you must be six feet tall. Perhaps this is part of a conspiracy to sell more platform shoes.

I have pretty large breasts and I used to wear low cut things. Then one time I was at my friends 40 y/o (I’m 19) boyfriends house and he kept making comments about it and I felt like shit and that was the last time I wore anything low cut. He also knew my mom and compared my tits to hers…sick!

I’m (ahem) very well endowed, and fairly aggressive to boot. Any outfit that emphasizes my cleavage is okay by me. (In any color as long as it’s black.)

I think I lot of larger-breasted women have issues with their overall weight, and therefore tend to dress more conservatively to hide their bodies. It’s a shame, I agree.

As to the “things falling in” idea, I can confidently state that wiping spaghetti sauce/ice cream/whatever off exposed cleavage is much easier (and sexier) than getting it off your shirt. And this does tend to happen more to those of us in the largest sizes, since we do have to sit farther away from the plate.

As I said to my wife when she told me about how her wedding dress would have cleavage:

“Good, because I approve of cleavage.”

I do have issues with my overall weight, but I’ve discovered that there are cuts of clothing that make my waist look tiny and emphasize my breasts. Between the shirt itself flattering my tummy and the fact that MOSes will probably not be looking down that far anyway, it works out.

Of course, I only dress that way sometimes, to avoid situations like that of VenusGirlTrap. There are a lot of dirty old men. And a lot of dirty young men, too.

::shrug:: On the whole I like showing off my chest. Like Arden Ranger (and her mother!) said, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it!”

When I was in my early twenties (and a bit thinner than I am now), I very seldom wore anything low cut despite having something to flaunt (38D). I gained a fair amount of weight, then lost it a couple of years ago. I’m now in mid 30s my attitude is “flaunt it.” Not at work certainly, but socially, my attitude is “You want to look, honey, go ahead.” Of course, any man I meet who stares at my chest and doesn’t look me in the eye will never get a chance to do anything but look.

And my People Pages pic has, as someone put it when he saw it, “gratuitous cleavage.”

[sub]sorry. just checking in for all of us dirty young men:D[/sub]

You, sir, are my new hero.

Any time ya need some billiards lessons porc, I’m yer man

Being a double D my problem with low cut tops is that it’s hard to find a bra that is cut low enough to not show above the cut of the shirt. I manage though

Mr. White, visit the beach, you’ll see that your theory doesn’t hold up.

Beach doesn’t count…only casual attire.

It kinda frosts my cake; like being outside at Fort Knox with all the doors locked: you know there is treasure in there, but you can’t even get at glimpse of it.

And I occasionally have improper thoughts about AudreyK

She really does manage quite well I think.
