Cleavland doesn't suck!

I have lived in Western Pennsylvania most of my life. I Bleed black and gold. I was raised to believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers were not just a football team but an elite force on a Holy mission to win the N.F.L. Championship and smite the Evil Browns. The Browns were vile because they came from Cleavland. Everyone knows that Cleavland is A horrid festering Boil of a city(hell, even the rivers there are so foul they catch fire). The worst thing about Cleavland is that it is full of Cleavlanders!(Cleavlandiites, Cleavlandians?) These were the worst sub human , inbred, stupid creatures ever to walk the face of the earth. Oh, And they smell bad too! I never thought of going within a hundred miles of “THE MISTAKE BY THE LAKE”. I was always told, " If them people know where yunz come from they’ll kill you just a soon as spit on ya!" And I’ve always believed that.

Until this weekend.

Seriously, I went to the Rock and Roll hall of fame for a little get away and to see some ex patriot friends. It was Great! The city was clean. The people were friendly. I had a blast. I even saw Steeler items for sale in the local shops. What an eye opener. I need to find more reasons to go to Cleavland.

It seems that when the Turnpike Rivalry died down after the original Browns were moved to Baltimore, the way was paved for better Cleavland/Pittsburgh relations.(I'll get to the scum scking Ravens and there ilk in another post).

If anyone can tell me some good things to do and see in Indian country I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh.

GO STEELERS!

[sub]Pssst! It’s Cleveland [/sub]

Hey man, don’t knock Cleavland!

Well, for a while it was Cleaveland until (according to legend) a local newspaper dropped the “a” to fit the name on their masthead,
however there is only one “a” in Cleveland, now, and it is in the second syllable.

You missed our Dopefest yesterday night!

Hmmm I don’t know about the Pittsburgh/Cleveland rivalry dying down at all (I’m still pretty convinced that Pittsburgh sucks!) but I’m so glad you enjoyed our nice city. As far as I’ve been told, Pittsburg - THE CITY - doesn’t actually suck either.

Right now is a great time to take advantage of our “Emerald Necklace” of Metroparks. If you like getting “lost” (figuratively) in the woods, the Metroparks is an amazing place.

Uhm…the Rock Hall and the Science Center are nice. And Jacob’s Field is really really nice (the fans can’t be beat!) The whole downtown experience is just really nice anymore.

Yeah, but a true Clevelander wouldn’t use “anymore” that way. Where are you *really *from?

A number of years ago, while on a bus trip from Denver to D.C., I needed to bail for a while and stretch the legs. Eating breakfast, I mentioned to my waitress that I was exploring Cleveland for the day. “What the hell did you stop here for?” Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

I liked Cleavland until I moved to Cleavage. Now,that’s a team to root for!

:cancels date, looks up Toledo’s number:

What do you like to do? There’s lots to do in Cleveland and knowing what you enjoy would help in suggesting stuff.

I really like to go to the zoo, and Great Lakes Brewing Company has both great beer and great food. I personally like to visit the Coventry area every time I am there (I visit yearly, as I grew up there and my parents are still there), to visit some shops I like and get something to eat. I also like visiting Little Italy and participating in the madness that is the annual Feast (of the Assumption).

There’s lots more - just tell us what you like to do.
