Clever Brand Names

In response to this thread.

What about clever brand names, i.e. products, shops, businesses etc.

I’ll start with a British shop and mail order service who specialise in bras, particularly in the larger sizes:

Bravissimo

I just think that’s brilliant. It always cheers me up when I walk past, and not just because of the pictures of the lingerie models.

I don’t know if it’s national or not but a new flower shop just opened up here called Ka-Bloom!

There’s a pet grooming shop a few blocks from here called Doggie-Style.

Not so much clever as it is really awful.

I always loved the name of Screaming Yellow Zonkers.

They were sort of like Cracker Jack and their original box back in the 70s was hilarious (“Easily cheaper than diamonds of equal weight.”) The same company also makes Fiddle Faddle and Poppycock (which, if you know the etymology of the term*, is a terrible name for snack food).

Here in Newark, DE, there is a heavy equipment rental place called “Hire-a-Hoe”. And it’s right next to a church! Been there for years and it still gives me a laugh.

In San Diego there is a funeral home called Goodbody Mortuary. It’s probably someone’s last name, but still they must have had quite a sense of humor to name the funeral home that.

Not really clever, but there is a surfboard wax called Sticky Bumps. Sounds like a social disease to me.

There’s a beauty parlor in Austin called “Curl Up and Dye”.

At one time in the Green Arrow comic book, he owned a flower shop called Sherwood Florist. Particularly good since his costume was Robin Hood-ish.
