The New Your Times is reporting thousands of emails, not 3.
“”"WASHINGTON — Emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server were found after the F.B.I. seized electronic devices once shared by Anthony D. Weiner and his estranged wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton, federal law enforcement officials said Friday.
The F.B.I. is investigating illicit text messages that Mr. Weiner, a former Democratic congressman from New York, sent to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. The bureau told Congress on Friday that it had uncovered new emails related to the Clinton case — one federal official said they numbered in the thousands… “”"

I’m trying to grasp the connection between the Weiner investigation and the Clinton emails…
could it be: the FBI is poring over a raft of Weiner emails, and somebody notices that there’s a bunch that have the same IP address as the famous Private Server. Probably from Weiner’s ex-wife, using Hillary’s email.
Ding ding, alarms go off, it goes up the chain to Comey and he says “oh crap, we gotta go public with this.”
It could turn to be just a bunch of mundane stuff between Weiner and whatshername, not even involving Hillary, much less classified info.
Fingers crossed.
Isn’t it more likely that the emails at issue were emails sent from Clinton to her aide, Huma Abedin?
I believe the debates had a significant impact on the fates of Hillary and the Tangerine Man. Which reminds me…

I don’t see Trump as much of an n-word guy. More likely, ‘‘the blacks.’’ Which he has so eloquently expressed in his speeches as ‘‘The African Americans.’’

Right, but what I meant is that for strategical purposes it might not make sense to do it now, because statistically, it is probably too late in the election cycle to make much difference. The same is probably also true for the e-mails, whatever might be in them. Nobody is changing their vote to Trump because of those e-mails.
Ambrosio ’s linked article, and the argument behind it, is pretty interesting. Worth checking out.
Good point, I guess I’m operating with too much of a political hair trigger right now. Fortunately Sam Wang always seems to say what is necessary to bring me down to earth. Now if you don’t mind, my “Make America Great Again” in-laws are due here for dinner at 6:30 so I only have 6 minutes to finish this bottle of malbec - Skdo23 out.

Yikes. Good luck.
And yes, this entire election cycle has been hair-trigger stressful.

It seems a stretch that those would have been part of the Weiner investigation.

The device was part of the Weiner investigation and everything on it became fair game. Huma discussing how Foster was murdered whatever.
Are Hillary’s nether regions classified? I mean, what if she and Tony were texting and, you know… Oh God, I don’t even want to think about it!
This is supposedly tomorrows NY Post cover.

Thanks. Although, in all fairness I’ve always felt that my kids could not have been blessed with better grandparents and this evening reminded me of that.
This segues nicely with a point I just made on Facebook…
<For a while I took the position that all Trump voters are racist, sexually predatory bigots>, but then I reasoned that 40% of the US population and 70% of uneducated white males are probably not terrible people, and that it annoys me when people assume I approve of every terrible thing Democrats do, so it wouldn’t be really fair to assume Trump voters approve of every single thing he does. I still have some seriously, strong, deeply held gut-wrenchingly emotional views on the kind of person he is and the danger to our culture of embracing the lowest common denominator of civil discourse, yeah, I have fantasies of spitting in his face. But I refuse to believe 40% of the people in this country are monsters.
This election is tearing at the moral fabric of our nation and it ain’t just the GOP.
Would ya believe that 40% are stupid?
I do think that in reality it is about 20% who are. The other 20% do know better, but they have the touch of evil that tells them that the party should come ahead of the country.
Impressionable, maybe.
The people I know of who are voting for Trump aren’t doing it because they think he’s just wonderful. They’re doing it because they are absolutely terrified of Hillary Clinton. As far as I can tell that terror is based on partisan bullshit, but it’s a real fear.
America is just becoming too damned credulous.
