I’m with those who think that this revelation has been held back, just waiting until the right moment to drop the bomb.
There is probably some campaign group who has a store of these little gems, and so we’ll get more. The reason for waiting so close to the election is that it gives Trump less time to react or to fight back.
Back in the day I was a fan of the show Babylon 5. This reminds me of an episode "Born to the Purple, in which it was shown many prominent families of the Centauri race kept so-called “Purple Files” These were collections of dirt on other families, to be brought out as needed.

The Trump video preemptively neutralized Wikileaks highly anticipated attempt to cause a big Clinton scandal. It is barely even visible on any news sites while the Trump video is the top story on every one.
Why was it not difficult looking them in the eye a week ago?
Anybody with integrity could already see what type of person Trump was without needing videos like these to hammer home the fact, if people like Pence now want to pretend that videos like this change anything then they are just full of shit.

Trump runs on anything that inflates his ego and denies anything that would harm the ego of a person with more humanity.
His charity, like most of his enterprises, appears to have been a sham, so its loss is no issue. His “brand” does not need 100% support. Few television shows since the rise of cable, to say nothing of the internet, have needed anything like 20% of potential viewers to be successful. The Apprentice was moderately successful for over ten years and in its largest audience in its most successful season it only garnered fewer than 29 million viewers–roughly 1 in 10 people in the U.S. at the time. His current “popularity” was around 30% before this current tape’s release, and he will not lose two thirds of his supporters among the sort of people who have already supported him after his remarks regarding Megyn Kelly and others.
If he can attract attention, he can sell his “brand” in a number of enterprises.
(I suspect that he might have a bit more trouble getting funding for property gambles with the amount of publicity that his tendency to abandon projects, stiffing his investors and creditors, has produced, but even there, he can probably con enough investors to continue rolling along.)

The Salt Lake Tribune has Trump at 34% and Clinton at 25%. This is a state where the average vote for GOP presidential candidates is something like 65%. However, Clinton has an unfavorable rating of 71% in the state (and I can personally attest to that, judging by what my uber LDS relatives shared on Facebook before I unfriended the entire lot). Similar to other states, Trump’s numbers are better for men than for women.
Johnson is polling at 13% and Evan McMullin at 12%. It actually isn’t impossible for Utah to actually go blue. If he were to lose half his support which was divided between the two third party candidates, HRC would win. It’s not likely, but has a greater than 0% change. (Other polls show Trump at 44%, if so, it would make a Clinton win really difficult.)
RCP has Utah as a likely Trump, the first time in my memory that it was not a safe state.
This could hurt Trump in Arizona, as 5% of the population is LDS and the vast majority of them would be GOP supporters. He’s now down 2% and losing half the LDS votes could make the difference. This scenario seems more likely than losing Utah.
Idaho is another state with a high percentage of Mormons, at 19%, but the numbers are worse there than in Utah. Likewise, Wyoming is 9%, but solidly Trump.

Sure. Well, significant is relative to the audience. But one was/is the Wikileaks ‘scandal’ but as I mentioned the Trump video preemptively neutralized it. It would certainly be at the top of the news cycle this week if it weren’t for the Trump video.
Trump has also been laying the groundwork to say ‘some really nasty things’ about Bill Clinton’s treatment of women. It was very likely planned to be a primary line of attack in the next debate. My guess that won’t go over very well either in light of recent news.

A big meh from me. I mean not the contents of the video, thats despicable. But, does anyone really not think he has not said such thing about 50,000 times since his balls dropped? Have you followed him the whole time he has been in the public eye?
I agree with John Mace upthread; the whole claims of “Trump has gone too far this time, he is screwed now” is a movie we have all seen many many times before and his earlier missteps have not hurt him fatally and I doubt this will.

Because he is Trump, the regular rules don’t apply to him. The people who wish to vote for him; don’t care. The ones who are undecided; again, if they had any morals qualms about voting for him, they would not still be undecided. All the people who cannot get themselves to vote for Mrs Clinton; are not going to be pulled from their lethargy. Thats what he is betting on.
I mean the only thing that changes is that the Secret Service has to have a protocol by which nubile young female interns/agents are kept as far away from his as possible when he’s elected.
Plus, the guy was/is best of buds with Vince McMahon. He appeared on WrestleMania for crying out loud.
