This is the fundamental factual error that, I believe, underpins every right-wing outrage about Clinton’s email: they think she exclusively communicated by emails on her private server, which meant that all of her confidential communications were run through an unsecure email service.
That is NOT true. There are special means by which secret information is communicated. As noted by Procrustus, the types of “classified” materials that ended up being found on the server were things like newspaper articles (because over-classification is a very serious and real problem in our government), and NOT the good stuff, like military targets or counter-intelligence.
Which is why it’s a tempest in a teapot, but the low-information Right is well and truly outraged.
I bear no malice to Obama. In my eyes he was an affable and intelligent President. Foreign policy was not however his strong suit. After 8 years in office Russia is now a powerful player in the Middle East and the alliance of Russia, Iran, Shi’ite Syria and Iraq, along with Hezbollah looks to be dictating affairs in that region for the foreseeable future. Even Israel is cozying up to Putin, with Israeli-American relations in the worst state they’ve been in for a long, long time.
Not all of this is Obama’s fault but some of it can certainly be laid at his door. You have to look pretty hard for any foreign policy successes in his administration. At least Hillary will quickly mend fences with Israel and I feel she will be a far more capable President than Obama when it comes to foreign policy (although her campaign bluster about no-fly zones and the possibility of shooting Russian planes out of the sky scares the hell out of me. I trust that she’ll come to her senses when she’s in the Oval Office.)
Obviously, allowing Russia to become a powerful player in the ME is a bad idea. After all, they are half a globe away from the Middle East, while the US is right next door.

No, your post is just about every kind of wrong, plus a few new ones that have yet to be imagined. You got it backwards on the foreign policy: he has done almost everything right and only a few things wrong (Libya, perhaps). Loud-mouth blustering morons might not get it, but we simply cannot afford to act like the world’s biggest asshole. Comes the day we cannot put up (and it will), having pissed everybody off will not work to our advantage.
You don’t know anything about this issue. I’ve worked with dozens or even hundreds of people who have mishandled controlled and classified information in this exact way. None of them were prosecuted.
But the reaction is typical. “But… But this time we know she actually did something! We have PROOF! We were told she should be in jail! We’ve been promised this for over 25 years! How is she not in jail when we know that, this time for sure, she actually did something wrong???”
