CNN = Communist News Network; FOXNews =?

My dad is a diehard Republican who is content to overlook Trump’s glaringly obvious flaws because FoxNews has convinced him that Republicans have a corner on truth and goodness, and everyone else is EVIL.

Whenever I say that I saw something on CNN, he dismisses it because it’s from the “Communist News Network.”

I’d love to come up with a clever nickname for FOX, but so far am coming up empty. It’s the damn “x.” And while it’s very easy to come up with an “F” word, I’d prefer not to use the obvious f word, because I have more civility than my “Grab them by the pussy” President.

Any ideas?

Faux News as in fake news has been used for a long time now. That should be enough.

BTW, if CNN which is actually fairly moderate gets a stupidly applied Communist, what does he give the actual left leaning MSNBC?

Oh, I should say that the best I could come up with was “Fascist Operatives and Extremists” but that’s a little long-winded.

But that works much better in writing than spoken, doesn’t it?

Friends Of X?

A post was changed or something there? The current version looks fine.

Post was changed.

Fascist Old Xenophobes? It doesn’t get the lying in, but hits 2 out of three.

There’s Fascist Obfuscating Xenophobes, but, that’s also long-winded.

Good point.

That works pretty well. Nicely done.

I like that, but I might change it to Fascist Old Extremists because xenophobe might not have the same sting because I’d have to tell my dad what “xenophobe” means.

“FOX News in Name Only”

FAUX News Network.

Technically that describes all “News Networks”, but the name name works.

There isn’t a valid source of news your dad is going to accept if it contradicts his Fox-induced bubble of nonsense, and no stupid little playground epithets are going to change that. I don’t have any advice to improve your angle of attack - it’s the same situation I’m in with my step-father.

Luckily, there are dozens of other topics that we are both interested in that don’t revolve around politics. I’d try to make a point of changing the subject and finding a topic that you both come away from in a better mood than you started.

She’s not trying to change his mind. She’s wanting to give him a taste of his own medicine.

And by the way, since Trump loves a Communist (Putin) I’d think this shouldn’t be an issue for him.

You may as well keep it short and simple. “Fakes News” will do, and you can even pretend that’s how you thought it was actually pronounced. Adding more complexity doesn’t improve the situation.

I call it Fox Propaganda Channel.

I refer to it as “Fux Noize.”

Fascists and Old Excrement

OR, if, like most Fox News watchers, he doesn’t know what fascism means,

Fools and Old Excrement
