Holy everything, it’s a good one this year. The third day doesn’t seem all that good, comparatively, but it does have My Morning Jacket, Gogol, Shout Out Louds, etc.

It’s amazing how far the Black Kids have come. One show at Athensfest and now they are playing at Coachella. Thanks, Pitchfork!

At first glance, I was really underwhelmed. Probably because I was expecting Radiohead and My Bloody Valentine. It’s been a couple of days and I can give it a bit more of an objective look.

I like the lineup. M.I.A., Hot Chip and Rilo Kiley better not be at the same time. I don’t want to miss a single second of any of those sets. I missed the Stars’ shows in Toronto because of work. Now I can travel 4000 km to make up for it. Where’s that Canadian flag?

I’m still a little underwhelmed but I think we’re still going to make the trip. A strong Canadian dollar is helping out, if we were getting 70 cents on the dollar this wouldn’t be happening.

But Jack Johnson headlining? Oof…Fatboy Slim will definitely be in the Sahara tent at the same time. So there’s always that if nothing else stands out. After dancing the night away to Prodigy a couple of years ago, I’d be glad to do it again.

Heh. I whooped when I saw Jack Johnson on there (not that I’m going, I have a previous event scheduled that weekend), but I fully accept that I am not the target market for Coachella, so it is weird he’d be up there.

That’s a sweet lineup. I’m so happy that Yoav is playing… he’s great. And if anyone doesn’t know him: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7qpUFDoNBHs

There have been a few changes. Madness dropped. Kate Nash and Above & Beyond added. Some artists moved to different days. There are probably one or two more that I’m not remembering.

Aphex Twin(!) & Goldfrapp added.

Prince added to Saturday.

For those who can’t make the trip to Indio, my overlords will be webcasting some of it. (AT&T’s "Blueroom")

Hopefully, the guys in the control room have learned their lesson and won’t be censoring it this time.

We live about 30 min. from the Polo Grounds, but we decided not to go this year.
Previous years have been SO good - Foo Fighters, Weezer, Bauhaus, Coldplay, Radiohead, the Pixies, Beck and more Beck, The Black Keys, Wilco. Maybe our taste for music is a bit on the elderly side??? Anyway, be prepared for big crowds, dirty toilets, crappy food, expensive water and OMG the walk from the parking lot through the dust and dirt. Not to mention the heat. It’s going to be 98 degrees here tomorrow, so take a wild guess what it will be in a few weeks.

I am very jealous of anyone who gets to see Prince. Wow. On the same day as Death Cab for Cutie. Now that sounds fantastic.

Have a great time, to those who are going.
