2005 Coachella Valley Music Festival

who SO there?

Wow. I’ve never heard of any of those people. Actually, I think I’ve heard of Nine Inch Nails. They’re heavy metal, aren’t they?

Anyone who goes…I hate you so much.

I was going to list everyone that I want to see but then figured I don’t have the time for that.

Where’s the salivating smilie?

If I wasnt so damned broke, and on the opposite coast I would love it=\

maybe we can win the lottery… :smack:

I’m only really interested in seeing about four of those bands, but seeing a reunited Black Star could be worth the price of admission alone.

Wow! The Kills, Rilo Kiley, and the Secret Machines? Jeez, those are three of my favorite current bands. (Not to mention the Raveonettes and Wilco.) Sadly, I won’t be going this year, but eventually, my GF and I have this plan where we take a year off and go to as many music festivals and film festivals as we can squeeze in. Coachella’s at the top of my list.

I go every year; I’ll be there. I love Coachella!

Cocteau Twins! I had no idea that they were even talking again, much less playing.

As is the case every year, I really, really want to go and probably won’t be able to.

You’re already in California! There is no excuse!

I’m in Minnesota and I have made one so far in '03. I am going to do everthing I can to make 2005.

I just saw that this afternoon too.

SO disappointed. Last year there were at least 5 bands I REALLY wanted to see, and I had a blast all day both days.

This year? Yeah, I guess some of it is pretty cool. I guess. Maybe. I’ll probably pass.

What’s the line-up for the Bauhaus? Are they completely reunited or just some of them? Are there new studio recordings or will this be a “greatest hits” performance?

Rrrrr! It’s so far away!

Wilco and Rilo Kiley and the Dresden Dolls- and I can’t see it. Grrr.

I’d want to see Rilo Kiley, the Raveonettes, Weezer, Wilco, and maybe MF Doom, but I’m not overly concerned with any of the others.

Sweet! I am seriously thinking about going! My boyfriend lives near San Francisco, so we are thinking about driving down for this. If we do, we would opt to camp there, tickets for camping are $35 per person. I figure that would be better than having to trek back to a hotel each night.

So, for those who have been, please tell me all about it! Did you camp out?

Weezer! We weren’t gonna go this year, but hell yeah we’ll be there for Weezer and Coldplay and Cafe Tacuba (sp?).

We live about 30 minutes from the concert site. Don’t you hate us?

I would, Beckwall, except for the fact that miraculously the planets have almost aligned and my friend and I will be able to come down for the show. Just need to get cash from my parents, since I’ll have none of my own after this semester. We’re going to fly down from Toronto for this. Weezer, Coldplay and the Chemical Brothers in one day. I think my head will explode. Especially if Bernard Sumner comes out sings Out of Control with the Chem. Bros.

This will be the greatest birthday ever. It’s on May 2.

Not to mention The Arcade Fire. I heart The Arcade Fire.

That would be the coolest thing ever.

Only a few days to go!

I had planned on going, but only because I’m desperate to see Wilco again. And then, on Wilco’s website, they announced a “secret” concert at UCSD on April 29. Then I thought, “I could go to both!” BUt then my husband told me that might be the definition of insanity. Hmmm, a weekend in San Diego, hanging out on the beach, sleeping in a nice hotel, and eating good food…or camping out at Coachella.

I’ll be in San Diego.

I’m almost packed and ready to fly out tomorrow to LAX at 1:00. I can’t believe this is going to happen. I am so excited for this.
