Cobra Commander Vs. Syndrome

In This Corner–

Cobra Commander --world’s leadering would-be world conquerer since the 80’s.

His femme fatale assistant, The Baroness

His Infantry

25 HISS Tanks

His Trouble Bubble Tac Aircraft 25 of these

The Rattler 15 of these
4 Cobra MAGGOTS

4 Guys in SNAKE armour

And, for geek value Croc Master
And In This Corner–

Syndrome–no image available. Has flight boots, wrist grenades of unbelievable power, recon robots, & Zero-point energy blasters. Other weapons are probably available. Has slaughtered multiple, experienced, superheroes.

His femme fatale–Mirage. Super Spy Extraordinaire.

His troops–hard-bitten mercenaries, very well equipped & armored, with morale far above normal for flunkies.

Flying buzzsaw aircraft.

A Heavily Defended Fortress, complete with anti-aircraft missiles, & weapons emplacements.

Gekk Value–Bomb Voyage.

And—The Omni-Droid Supreme!

Numbers of infantry are even

Remember–the defensive forces usually have an advantage, thus the seeming inbalance.

Syndrome is on the defensive, & has 24 hours to prepare.

Cobra Commander launches his attack from his Cobra Helicarrier, via transport choppers, & may re-supply, but not use the carrier itsself in the attack. He has satellite recon of Syndrome’s island.

No heroes may intervene.

Who wins?

Is Cobra Commander wearing a cape?

Ooooh, close fight!

Ultimately, I’ll have to give it to Syndrone, for the following reasons:

(1) As noted, he’s playing defensive, so he simply has to hunker down and wait things out.

(2) His base as sub-orbital launch capability, which means he might have launch craft available. That’d neutralize any air advantage Cobra Commander has.

(3) Mirage could seduce Cobra Commander and win one for Team S right there. The Baroness might be a lot of things, but being unfaithful from Destro isn’t one of them.

(4) The Omnidroid has been field-tested against various super heroes, and came out (mostly) victorious. Unless Cobra Commander has Mr. Incredible in his hip pocket, nothing in Cobra’s arsenal will make a dent in it.

(5) Finally, if Syndrone wants to take the battle to CC, he’s got the hardware and the gadgets to let him win. Fly past the air defenses, use his null-ray to neutralize the guards, use his flying seeker probes to find Cobra Commander, and – Ka-BOOM!

Syndrone in 3-to-2 odds.

Hasbro and Pixar’s stockholders.

I smite thee with a wet noodle for thy lack of geekiness!
For penance, thou must recite the Green Lantern Oath 10 times, and tell what the letters in SHAZAM stand for to 2 separate people that thou hadst never met before, at a party. Go, and sin no more, young Padawan

Pfah. Do not dare to impugn my geekiness. Besides, you didn’t specify which version of the Oath, since it varies for different GLs… and I can only assume you meant Billy Batson’s version of SHAZAM, since Black Adam’s stood for different entities altogether…

And you just reference the Star Wars prequels? Worst. Comeback. Ever.

BTW–CC wears capes at ceremonies, not in battle.

Gotta give it to team Syndrome.

Syn’s Mercs are toast, they just can’t stand up to the big Guns COBRA is bringing (although Syndrome’s missle defense will make a big dent, unless those have already been compromised by baroness infiltration… Hmm…).

But, I assume you meant the final OmniDrone X. Yeah. It’s nigh unstoppable. Impervious armor, a range of nasty weapons, and smart. Hell, it’s

[spoiler] Smarter than Syndrome, and that shouldn’t be a problem here, as they won’t be working at cross-purposes. [/spolier]. It’d mow through everything COBRA has, leaving Syndrome (himself a nasty hitter, he could probably take out anything COBRA has, although he’d be overwhelmed by numbers) to bat cleanup, alongside Mirage and any remaining mercs.

Unless the Baronness can get her hands on both the missle codes and the OmniDrone’s control gauntlet, COBRA has no chance. And even then, I’d still bet on Syndrome (or rather, on the OmniDrone).

Syndrome wins because Cobra always screws up at the last minute, prematurely detonating the bomb as an act of ego, or degenerating into self-destructive infighting or something.

Of course, all of Cobra’s various pilots and drivers survive to fight another day.

The real X-factor is what happens when Optimus Prime shows up.

Let’s see…

Syndrome was beaten and killed by a baby.

Cobra Commander wasssss oncccce a man…ssssssssssssss

Not even close. At least Syndrome has some level of competency. Cobra Commander couldn’t even lace up his boots without Destros help.
Winner: Syndrome by a knock out in about twelve seconds assuming he takes ten seconds to check out the Baroness.

If Syndrome actually has perfected zero point energy, he’ll have unlimited energy supplies and therefore beats everybody.

Silly geek! The battle is on Syndrone’s island, remember? How’s Op gonna even get there?

(Okay, maybe he could pull out those water skis from the start of “The Ultimate Doom,” but that’s IMO a non-canonical power…)
