Cocktails Named After You! Ask the Uke Guy!

What does a guy gotta do to get a drink in this place?

Take care.

Poor Uke. He’s probably leaving the country as we speak.

You need Degas to make De Van Gogh.

May I please have a drink named after me? Pretty please?

I’d like one! Please?

I’d like to sign up for a drink naming session too. I am a tee totaller but do like Jagermeister, rum and kummeling (a german liquor.) Not all at the same time. Ohhh, I also do enjoy Frangelico.

Arnold, is that pear liquor available here in the US?

Hit me. (please, nothing “swimming” in the actual drink…)

Ummm, OK, I am going to jump in here for poor Ike, who is even now cowering under his desk, “shakin’ like a aspirin leaf.”

We all love him and admire him and toss rose petals at his feet (OK, that last one is just to see if he’ll slip on them and fall in front of the N train), but maybe we better give him a break, as he’s still recovering from his ace performance in his books thread.

Why not toss this back at Wally—or our resident lush, UncleBeer—and have THEM hoist on this particular petard?

The Wally

3-4 oz. bottom-shelf gin

Pour into a smudged glass. Fill with tepid tap water, if less of a “kick” is desired

The UncleBeer

Fill two Pilsener glasses with 1/2 Guinness Stout and 1/2 Harp Lager, alternating pours.

Drink the first and save the second for after. Prepare the next two while you’re drinking the second. Repeat.

The Cristi

1 1/2 oz Bourbon
1 1/2 oz Madeira
1 tsp Grenadine

Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

I want one too. Something smooth that goes down easy.

~Never got a Wally sig~

Leave it alone, folks. WAY too easy

How 'bout me?

I’ve lurked enough and I know I’ll need a drink after work today!

Too new to know better…

Not to be a bother, but could I have one too?

You say “cheesy” like that’s a BAD thing.

The Summer Eve

4 oz. Cranberry Juice
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Club Soda

Pour juices over ice in a highball glass. Stir to combine. Top with soda, and garnish with the spent lemon.

The Autumn Eve

Hot Tea
1 1/2 oz. Amaretto

Pour hot tea into a parfait glass (over a spoon to prevent cracking). Add amaretto but do not stir. Top with whipped cream.

(Okay, there’s alcohol in amaretto. But not a LOT of alcohol.)

Thanks, Barkeep. Now reach in my pocket and grab your tip.

The Missy2U

Girly, but with a definite tang

2 oz. Gin
1 oz. Grapefruit Juice
dash of Maraschino

Stir with ice, and strain into a cocktail glass.

The John Corrado

Essentially a John Collins made with Rye. The choice of liquor toughens it up and adds the raffish Corrado air

2 oz. Rye Whiskey
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1/2 tsp Sugar

Stir with ice in a collins glass. Toss in spent lemon rind and fill glass with club soda.

The saucy potato

Potatoes for dessert! Sorry about the sweetness, but I figure it’s time for an after-dinner drink. And this is the only way I can think of to make it white-ish…

1 oz Vodka (natch)
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Heavy Cream

Stir with ice. Strain and serve in a champagne flute.

The Trion

This one should be elegant

2 oz Brandy
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
1/2 tsp Grenadine

Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
