Code_Grey, quit spamming GQ with Bullshit

Who the fuck are you? And please don’t flatter yourself by thinking I pissed in your Cheerios on purpose. I don’t remember being previously aware of your existence.

That’s Cheshire Human. He/she has been here over a year. Nuff said.

Yup, I went through the same thing. I tried to help out in one of his threads by correcting his misconceptions of the software development cycle, and he reacted as if I kicked his dog. Not worth the time or the effort.

Broad, but shallower than the oil puddles under my leaky Subaru.

Why should I spend any time answering one of your questions when you’re going to be flitting off to another subject in five or ten minutes and will never think of the original question ever again?

It’s funny how my opinions have changed over time.

I used to say I didn’t give a crap. But now even I notice your bullshit. It’s not that you ask so many questions. It that you ask the question and freak out when people give you an answer you don’t want, and then run away from the thread when it actually starts getting interesting, not even coming back to thank people.

And your questions are almost always horribly inane. You don’t even seem to take any time researching on your own. If you can go get an answer on Google, then don’t ask the question.

But, mostly, it’s just a horrible lack of social skills. I thought maybe you were overeager and looking for work in computing. But, no, it seems that you just don’t care that you are annoying people. This type of questioning is the type of thing most people grow out of by the end of grade school.

To give a GQ quality answer requires time doing research. It’s not fucking Yahoo! Answers where any answer will do. That people are getting tired of doing your research for you doesn’t surprise me in the least.

Because the idiot’s still doing it. Why not?

code_grey, I quoted this so you could read it twice. Your comments in this very thread make it sound like you think you’re being pitted for having broad intellectual curiosity. You’re not. You’re being pitted because of your ridiculous belligerency in threads where people a lot more knowledgeable than you are trying to help you understand the complexities behind your questions. Maybe you realize that, and you recognize their expertise, and you’re just arguing as a devil’s advocate because that’s how you learn. That’s fine; I’m the same way. But you should fine-tune your tone. You’re annoying people. On the other hand, maybe you’re just a jerk. In which case, pitting well-deserved.

I am being pitted because people don’t like to be asked probing questions. They think that “fighting ignorance” is about handing out soundbites without elaboration. “You heard the soundbite, code_grey? So why don’t you shut up now, you idiot?”

Just because I don’t explicitly acknowledge every info tidbit said in my threads, it doesn’t mean that I ignore them. Or that I am not grateful for them. Further, I do in fact acknowledge a lot of it and use the info in asking further questions. If you don’t notice that, maybe your reading comprehension skills are below mine or something. And yes, a long, info-rich forum thread can be hard to make sense of.

Those not interested in having such a discussion with me are free not to do so. I don’t start pit threads to bash on people for not answering my threads or for answering them in dumb and insulting ways (fortunately, that’s very rare, but there were cases in the past).

WRT social skills, you want “social skills”, you go get them on Oprah. Complete with the EQ, the “empathetic communication” and shit like that. I am an analytical nerd, not a “soul of the party”. And people who would find communicating with me most interesting probably also would be analytical nerds, or at least trending in that direction. The passionately creatively vibrant with synergistic drive and yadda yadda hunger need not apply.

No, you don’t ask probing questions. You ask incredibly trite questions that reveal your total absence of background understanding of the questioned material. Then you demand that we educate you until your question makes some kind of sense.

For example, your question “is legal research important? Is Lexis just like google?” reveals an absolutely stunning lack of knowledge about the legal profession, for someone who thinks they can improve it.

As predicted, his reading skills seem to be uncoupled from his comprehension skills. His social skills are as yet undeveloped.

Sorry, that was supposed to be a joke. I should have put a smiley in it. Apologies for giving offense.

Here is a serious question for you: Who do you think knows better why you are being pitted, you or the people responding in this thread?

No, you are being pitted because of your arrogance and condescending tone.

If that is the case, that is certainly not the impression you give.

And can he bit pitted more efficiently by robots.

Or maybe a team of CRT people

yeah, I better watch out for the temperamentally wiley John Chinaman’s mechanized wu shu pit, huh.

ETA: your pitting technique is weak, and so is your kung fu! Hiyah! http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/2009-09-01/

Here’s the great part about being me: I am perfectly ok with that evaluation.

I am curious about the serious question I asked you in a recent post, would you be willing to answer it? (I’m interested in people’s thought processes).

I love this board.

If that’s honestly your conclusion after reading this thread, I have to suspect you may be psychotic.

Watching you try to insult John Mace is one if the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. It’s like watching a three legged shih tzu trying to savage an armored humvee.
