Coffee/Tea Poll: US/Canada Edition

Please answer in this utterly un-scientific and utterly pointless poll ONLY if you drink coffee and/or tea. There will be no option for “I don’t drink either.”

Poll to follow.

Tea only. I am Canadian of English descent.

Coffee almost exclusively; I’ll drink tea if there’s literally nothing else to drink (except water). Also I have herbal tea a few times per year.

Tea only, and then only iced. the only warm beverage I will drink is hot chocolate, and that only about 5 times per year. I prefer Bigelow’s Plantation mint, and various herbals in the evening.

I don’t really drink either with any regularity but when I do it’s almost always tea.

Tea at home, coffee at work.

I voted Tea exclusively but it’s kind of misleading. My caffeine drink of choice is diet coke, tea is an occasional drink when I want something hot. Never coffee though, I can’t stand the taste even after adding half a cup of milk and sugar.

I have been drinking more tea lately, one of the women in the office brought in some Pink Flamingo tea from David’s teas and I’m in love. It’s amazing in the morning and now that there is actual SUN I’m looking forward to trying it over ice.

Coffee only when we eat Sunday breakfast at our favorite diner. Otherwise I never touch the stuff. Tea when I eat Chinese and iced all summer long.

You didn’t say hot tea or iced tea. Iced tea I drink every night, I drink hot tea also at work, but not nearly as frequently. Coffee usually, though.

Tea every single workday, and most weekend days, although I will on occasion make a pot of coffee upon request, and partake thereof.

I drink both about equally.

What I REALLY drink a ton of is Diet Coke.

Canadian.

One cup of each a day, coffee in the morning and (black, hot) tea in the afternoon.

U.S.

Hot tea, no milk, sugar, honey, or anything. Just plain tea. Yum. I drink many cups of it a day.

Green tea: every day. Vietnamese ice coffee (aka cà phê sữa đá): sometimes. Regular coffee: never. That stuff’s nasty.

I drink hot coffee (or hot tea, depending on my mood that day) until around 10am, and then I switch over to iced tea. Strong, and unsweetened. I don’t stop drinking iced tea until I head off to bed.

Coffee all the way baby! Tea other than chamomile or iced tea is repulsive to me.

Coffee exclusively except for iced tea (which shouldn’t count). American, born and raised.

Tea, iced or hot, fairly frequently. Coffee only when I desperately need caffeine and it’s the only available option. Even then I can just barely choke down weak coffee only with the help of obscene amounts of sugar and cream.

American here. My parents drink lots of hot black tea. My mom is of British extraction (though all ancestors have been in America since the 1800s) and her entire family loves tea and often has a traditional ‘tea time’ - hot strong black tea with cream or sugar and baked goods on the side, at around 4pm. I found I liked coffee too when I was a kid and they kept some instant in the house for me. I’ve had one or the other or both nearly every day since I was 10 or 11.

As an adult I still drink and enjoy both black tea and coffee. Lately, much more tea than coffee. I take both with cream. I also drink various herbal ‘teas’ on occasion but could take or leave them. Iced tea is all right but I almost never drink it. I don’t like cold drinks.

If I had to choose only one for the rest of my life it would be a piping hot Irish Breakfast black tea, served in a thin china cup.

Espresso mostly, coffee at work, iced tea in restaurants, rarely hot tea.
