Coke or Pepsi?

I’m in the city of Gardena, in Los Angeles County, about 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles–maybe 60 or 70 miles north on the 405 from you.

Yesterday I took some Coke & Pepsi and put them in the same glass. Best of both worlds. What should I call it? Cope?

Peski?

coke is the unbeatable beverage.

Anyone see Dr. Brown’s Cel-ray soda recently? I haven’t had this in years. I do see their other flavors in specailty groceries, but not the celery.

Diet Pepsi, in quantities that my kidneys don’t appreciate. And as one of my KY brethren pointed out, the occasional Ale-8.

For the uninitiated, Ale-8 is a powerful ginger ale produced in Winchester, KY, and available only recently west of Lexington. It has a reputation for being high in caffiene and sugar, but neither is true. I am fairly certain that one of the “secret ingredients” is Cascade hops.

The only proper vessel for this beverage is the big green returnable bottle (20 cent deposit). Also wonderful mixed with Kentucky’s other finest beverage, bourbon.

In other weirdo KY beverage news, in Owsley Co.(last I heard, the poorest county in the nation), RC machines are more common than Coke or Pepsi machines. My theory is that advertising didn’t get to them for a while, so they just went with whatever was cheap.
