I went to high school from '85-'89, and in freshman or sophomore year there was a pretty big Coke boycott due to our (perhaps limited) understanding of the company’s contribution to apartheid. I don’t remember being much of a Coke drinker before then, but that’s when I got used to/started developing a preference for Pepsi.
Diet Pepsi. It’s nigh unto a sacrament for me.
Coke products / Diet Coke. In fact, I actively avoid any fast foot joint or restaurant/bar that serves Pepsi products. That’s why I’ll never eat at Sbarro, unless its in a food court and I can pop over to the McDonald’s and grab a Diet Coke. At a bar, I’ll often get a cheap or run-of-the-mill bourbon (Jim Beam for example) and “coke.” But if the “coke” is actually Pepsi, it’s just a horror show.
I travel a lot for work and I notice that up north, it’s much harder to find Coke-branded establishments. I’ve even been to convenience stores where there are no Coke products anywhere. Not from the fountain, not in the cooler case, and not on the shelves. PASS.
RC Cola used to be my favorite. Add a banana moon pie and OMG, I was in heaven. 
I haven’t bought a RC Cola in decades. I quit buying them when glass bottles were discontinued. Is RC Cola still as good?
