Maybe LSU shouldn’t have fired Les Miles.
And maybe FSU should fire some people. Good grief, it’s a W and we badly needed one, but what an ugly-ass win it was. Our vaunted D seems to have been left behind in Atlanta, the O-line is playing like a high school team, and the running backs seem to have forgotten that yardage only counts when it’s north-south. The only “good” news is that, other than the punting game, the special teams seems to have turned it around somewhat. A winning season could be difficult to achieve at this point. We’ve got Miami, Louisville, Clemson, and the Gators still to play. If we lose all of those, it’s 5-6 at best.
Stupid Gamecocks with their stupid hope…
Bama crushed Ole Miss, saw them driven before us, and heard the lamentations of their women. And Ole MIss is ok with that, because LSU lost to Troy. <snerk>.
Miss State got destroyed by Auburn. And now the win over LSU is less impressive.
But the LSU loss did lead to an epic tweet from Troy.

WTF is a field goal target line? This is an annoying feature on ESPN’s coverage of Florida State vs Miami. There’s already enough crap on the screen, I don’t need more clutter. And, as an FSU alum, the last thing I want to think about during a game against Miami is fucking field goals!
No. 3 Oklahoma goes down!
No. 7 Michigan goes down!
So will Oklahoma still be rated ahead of OSU? I can see the argument either way (OK has a bad loss now, but OSU has no good wins, and they lost to OK head-to-head).
Whoo-hoo, Sparty is back! Already more wins than last season. Despite a little late game theatrics, they shut down Michigan with an assist from the weather. Refs missed a couple targeting penalties against Michigan and fell for a sideline dive from the U-M QB, giving them 15 yards and a legitimate shot to pull it of at the end. The MSU trophy case was empty for a week after ND took back the megaphone, but Paul Bunyan is back in East Lansing.
Congrats to Sparty! I would have preferred to see the game with Wilton Speight at QB for Michigan, but alas, thems the breaks.
Nebraska celebrated their 20th anniversary of their 1997 title. To honor this team, we Husker fans were treated to a masterful display of smashmouth, run-it-up-the-gut power football. The running back got nearly 250 yards, they finished with three drives of 100% running plays.
Sure brought back memories. Thanks, Wisconsin, for honoring that team.
The good news is we play Ohio State next weekend.
Is it fair to say that Jimbo Fisher should be on the slightly warm seat. I can’t remember a time since the mid-1980’s that FSU would be 1-3, with a worse record than Duke and struggling against a team like Duke.
I know this season has been messed up with the hurricanes, but any FSU program should be leading Duke by double digits in the 4th quarter.
I had tickets to see WSU @ Cal last night. Didn’t go, because (a) uncertainty as to whether or not the game would be played due to bad air quality…didn’t want to fight rush hour traffic, only to turn around; and (b) I was 100% certain the Bears were going to be embarrassed. Boy, am I glad to be wrong (although it would’ve been nice to be there.)
Oski, Oski, Oski, Oy, Oy, Oy
Doesn’t get much better for me than to watch clemson lose to a big underdog and then see my Gamecocks eek out a win at Tenneesee.
Despite the Clock guy’s best efforts. ![]()
I think the coach with the crew cut is about to lose his job in Knoxville. He might make it to the end of the year but Tennessee has been looking forward to at least competing for the SEC East title for some time now and it’s obvious that won’t happen this year, and with Kirby Smart rebuilding Georgia, that might not happen for five years.
Cal is one of those opponents that just jumps up every once in a while an shocks teams.
4 Top 10 teams go down! What a crazy week!
