Yeah I’m sure Texas and Ole Miss sure enjoyed their games against those soft PAC-12 defenses…

In the last two games the Bears have given up 0 second half points. The Bears are actually kinda playing defense. I’m as stunned as anyone.
Meanwhile, in SEC country, Miss St. hands LSU one of its worst ass-whoopins in the last 2 decades, 37-7. It would be one thing if it were Alabama or an upcoming Florida squad, but Miss St. has been pretty much a lay-up win for the Tigers even in down years. But not this year, and perhaps never again as long as Mullen’s coaching the Bulldogs. Not sure if LSU has become that bad or if Miss St. has become that good, or both.
Holy Fuck! That USC vs Texas game was great! (because we won, and I was drinkin’ a whole lot and …)
For the upcoming Wisconsin game, we are doing “Throwback Uniforms”. They chose the 1997 National Championship uniform. Many of were like “Isn’t that too recent for a throwback?”
Then we were reminded that 1997 was twenty years ago.
After watching us lose to a directional MAC school at home, I’m feeling every one of those 20 years.
Cal vs USC next Saturday is having a “throwback” start time. I hope we don’t have a “throwback” score!
1975 uniforms, 1975 score would be perfect.
LOL, I don’t throw back that far. I was thinking 1980. But I like your plan better.
ESPN says 12:30 Pacific. A true “throwback” start time is 1:00 - that’s when they started when I was there (early 1980s). Gave me time to grab lunch at Top Dog on Durant before the game.
Yeah, I saw this. It’s terrible.
Defensive backs probably have the most dangerous job on the field. They can be trained to tackle with their shoulders - all it takes is one unanticipated shift in motion and then the human neck, which in no way was engineered to withstand the force of a tackle’s impact, bears the brunt of the collision. Tackling, especially from the defensive back’s or special teams’ position, is one of the most dangerous acts in sports.
About Nebraska’s home loss to a directional MAC school:
Now today, Nebraska just fired their AD. I’m guessing coach Mike Riley’s days are numbered. Strange that we didn’t see this coming with a .500 coach from Oregon State. Yeah, he’s a nice guy to replace volatile Pelini. But that doesn’t mean you have to be nice enough to let other teams win.
Still looking for the Tom Osborne days to come back… regardless of how the college football landscape has changed. If Penn State can be #4 six years after losing Paterno during a devastating scandal, why can’t we?
Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel, in a column meant for UCF coach Scott Frost (the Nebraska QB in that magic year of 1997) to read, explains pretty convincingly why he should stay here instead of going back to Nebraska.
Looking forward to Mississippi State @ Georgia this week. Otherwise, I don’t see much to get excited about.
Oklahoma manages to make it work.
Some sad news:Midwestern State player, 19, dies after injury during game
My daughter lives in Wichita Falls. Their hospital facilities are about what you’d expect for a city of 100,000. I’m a little surprised that they took him to Houston instead of Dallas since Dallas has world-class hospitals. I’m afraid that the reason is that they knew that he had no hope and wanted his family around. ![]()

Scott Frost would be an idiot to come out here, and I say that as a Husker fan. The fan base would turn on him faster than they did when he chose Stanford… or lost to Arizona State… or wasn’t beating Central Florida bad enough in the first quarter (I was at that game when he got booed, we won a national title that season).
Frost knows first hand how Husker fans are, and should want no part of that.
Texas A&M just got Butt-raunched by the Officials. 7 points turned into 3. That sucked!
Like I care…
Oklahoma manages to make it work.
According to Barry Switzer there are 1600 high schools in Texas, which has always made Texas a very fertile recruiting ground for the Sooners.
My Dawgs are looking good. Go UGA!
