Huh? How is Boise still number 3 after a loss?
Oh, and BTW, GO 'NOLES! What a great game. Still recovering my voice.

New polls aren’t out yet. They’ve still got a few minutes at #3.
I would have ruled it an illegal forward pass but I’m biased. Great act of athleticism though.
A bittersweet day yesterday for us Canes fans. The loss to USF was inexcusable, but it guaranteed a new coach. Rumors of Jon Gruden to Miami are rampant. My first choice would be Petersen from Boise, who I think is attainable, but Gruden would be a fantastic get.
Didn’t it seem a bit precipitous? I mean, Miami’s going to a bowl; and has Shannon ever had a losing record?
His four years were 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, and 7-5. Overall, 28-22, with 3 wins against FCS teams. There wasn’t one signature win, but there were probably 6 signature losses (51-13 @ OU, 48-0 vs Virginia in the last game at the Orange Bowl, 2 blowouts at VPI and blown out at home last week against the Hokies, crushed at home this year by FSU on Saturday night national tv). Four years is plenty to even get to the ACC championship game, but it didn’t happen. At best, I think he’d have grown into a coach like Richt and you could look forward to a 12-2 season every now and then, with plenty of 8 and 9 win seasons. That’s not good enough.
RIP. This season should have been euthanized 3 weeks ago.
Mushroom, mushroom!
My Gamecocks spent the middle part of the season trying to figure out if they were any damned good or not. After losing to Kentucky and Arkansas, I was starting to wonder. But after decisively beating Florida and Clemson, they’re looking pretty good. They should at least belong on the same field with Auburn this Saturday - their game earlier this year was pretty close.
So let’s talk bowl matchups. NBC is projecting Bama vs. Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl. I like this possibility a great deal. Very worthy bowl game against a very worthy traditional powerhouse.
I’m also seeing projections of Bama vs. Michigan State in the Cap. One Bowl, because of Saban’s MSU ties.
Either of those games would be very watchable (if Bama doesn’t curl up and die after the Auburn loss) and would be great, physical games. I’m disappointed with this season, but heck, there’s more good football to watch.
Just because I normally hide my glee doesn’t mean it isn’t there!
I’ve been waiting for a season like this for 40 years!
And go ahead - slap me with a spurtle if that isn’t what you meant.:smack:
