College football goings on

OK, so the BCS (take out the “c”) is decided tomorrow. If things stay like they are then it will be #1 Oklahoma vs. #3 Florida State for the National Championship in Miami, Fl in the Orange Bowl. Yeah, that’s right #1 vs. #3 (damn computers messing up what’s supposed to be #1 vs. #2). I would prefer a Miami-Oklahoma match up, the way it should be. Oklahoma is undefeated and does belong in the NC, but how does FSU end up there (if they do)?

FSU and Miami both have one loss. Miami’s loss was to Washington, FSU’s loss was to Miami, yet FSU is ahead of Miami. The Big East and ACC are not exactly strong conferences this year. Common sense would tell you that Miami should play for the NC since they beat FSU.

Nebraska might miss out on a BCS bowl. My Huskers might lose out because Notre Dame could take the at large spot. But the Huskers beat ND and ND is lower than the Huskers in the BCS!

Heisman race: OK, I don’t like any of the Heisman candidates. Heupel is the one that deserves to win, though. Chris Weinke, FSU QB, is another one of the top candidates. The same Weinke that is 28 years old (older than half the starting QB’s in the NFL), he should have gone pro last year after he accomplished what he wanted by winning the NC. I personally do not have a clue as to how Heupel gets it done. I’m guessing that it’s the system and players around him. I can’t believe that some consider this guy a NFL prospect. Anyone remember Danny Wuerffel? Tonight in the not so perfect weather conditions in KC he would have passes that would get away from him. In the Nebraska game when blitzed he’d just throw the ball into the air and hope a receiver would run under it.

Just another case of computers screwing things up I guess. I probably left out some injustices. Anyway, let’s hear everyone else’s thoughts.
