44 years ago. She did say she’d wait, but let’s be reasonable.
Must be easy to be a gun-confiscation nut. You can just cast off every bit of evidence about how crime, violent crime, murder, gun murder, and mass shootings are all at their lowest point in history, because the facts don’t fucking matter to you and you need a fundamentalist-level belief in “America is collapsing because of guns” to justify your insane fear of an inanimate object.
Oh, shit, I must have misunderstood the evidence where the Manson family murders were committed by a single person with a knife. I guess they are equivalent to the situation in the OP.
Actually the link is even weaker than that-guns were involved in the Manson massacre.
The lowest point in history? Wow, that is amazing! I’d very much like to see a cite for that.
Chrissakes, not more cites about how non-dangerous gun are – like we don’t get enough of those every time some lawful gun owner pops his cork and greases a few people … which is like every other fucking month, or so it seems.
No, his claim is broadrr and more extreme: that violent crime, homicide, firearm homicides and mass shootings are at their lowest in history! I can’t wait to see the data on that one.
It is clearly an AR-15 variant with a 10 or 20 round mag. With the tactical stock and sling, I’d guess it belongs to a cop.
As pointed out by tomndeb in post #145, I believe. Too soon to tell what weapons were in use by whom-the only official word so far is that the suspect used multiple weapons.
There was some doubt expressed in post 145. It is clear what it is.
Good article:
Professor Fox, eh? Yeah, there’s an unbiased source.
Argh! If I ever figure out how to do that, I’ll let you know. Until then, I suppose we just have to suffer through it. Can’t put that on ignore.
On a broader note, people do realize that when someone asks for equivalent evidence, they’re not just looking for a once or twice occurrence in the history of the world, right? Since that seems to be completely misunderstood by a few people on this board, I thought I’d simply point that out.
Please return to your regularly scheduled gun debate that will not change anyone’s mind, nor stop the easy acquisition of guns that leads to so many mass shootings.
Bzzt. History existed prior to 1990.
The article notes that crime is at its lowest since 1963. If you’d like me to revise my statement to “lowest since modern crime statistics began being kept,” I’m game. Now you revise your worldview to account for the fact that the gun crime epidemic you base all of your confiscation fantasies on is the exact opposite of what is happening.
Does this mean that gun control laws passed since 1963 are having a positive effect on our society?
Well, I might have, because it is scientifically impossible to be both violent and on marijuana. You have to make a choice beforehand. As philosopher Hicks put it, here’s a fight between people high on weed:
- hey *buddy *!
- hey, what ?!
- hey…hey ? Wow, I’m hungry.
End of argument.
Difficult, but not impossible. Even knew someone who knew someone who beat the living shit out of someone while on ecstasy. In fairness, I think that was before everyone started sucking on pacifiers with PLUR printed on them.
Is this a joke, or are you just incredibly ignorant of the real world?
Such attacks happen several times a year on planet Earth.
I assume that this is an example of what others have been saying. Because CNN doesn’t sensationalise such events, large numbers of people remain totally ignorant of them.
