Like everyone else I can’t really disagree with the Mods’ choice. However, I can’t find the logic that would ban Stormfront members, but still leave a vile bigot like kalt or others untouched?
Anyway, I think it was the frustration that did him in. To argue about one thing so strongly for a long time, only to have someone (or even the same person like a month later) dust it off and apply the same bigoted and flawed arguments again, then again, in numerous threads. In the long run that could send anyone flaming.
Also, It seems ironic (for this of all boards) that we can hear people say that they would rather feel the friendly handshake of vile bigotry and despicable ignorance from members, then feel the swift slap of experienced knowledge and real intelligence from Col.*
For the nature of the arguments he was always fighting, I not only forgive him for his harsh words, but also plead that at times they weren’t harsh enough. However, I am not a Moderator nor is this my Message board. But, if it were…

(There is some disagreement regarding the depth and quality of Col’s knowledge, but there has been no claim that ignorance is preferred.
And where, exactly, did you get this idea? I haven’t seen anyone defending the fucktards Coll went postal on at all, much less arguing that they are better or worse people than Coll.
Your attitude appears to be that if one side is bad, the other side is allowed to respond in any way they see fit, regardless of whether the response is itself offensive or violates the established rules.

You have a point in saying that no one has defended Col’s victims (save some of the victims themselves). However, I surmise that the point some of us have tried to bring over is that there are a few cases of blatant and offensive bigotry that, however dressed, is just as offensive to some of us as Col’s outburst is to some others. Yet the bigots remain and Col goes… the fact that many of the ardent critics of Mr. Lounsbury have cried “favoritism” rhymes badly with that state of affairs.
For what it’s worth I am of the opinion that both the assheads in the Polite-But-Bigoted camp and their hothead opponents from Vitriol City should be tolerated. What the board should be rid of are the hothead assheads, and that already works.
I’ll put it more direct: IMHO there are posters that have broken the rules by being jerks, baiting and so forth, just as much as Col did through his ad-hominems. Only because they use a nicer tone they remain, I don’t think that is fair.
I might add that none of the above pretends to be objective as I am aware that some few, or maybe even some many posters would place me somewhere in the general vicinity of hothead central at times.
But hey, what’s objectivity when we entertain on such tender topics a sense and sensibility.
