Not in the slightest. I can’t imagine a situation where I’d need to contact a mod or report a post. Maybe he is just content posting his questions and then reading the responses.
There are so many people here who deserve a proper pitting that I don’t understand why anyone would focus on this benign character.
Some people on this board take themselves and the board too seriously to even laugh at them.
I can imagine some of the people on this board are also the types to start the whispering campaign about the odd neighbor who does not cook like them or socialize like them.
why david asking questions and always coming back to at least say thank you can generate pit threads from this crowd is strange. Colibri is right and this sort of question is iidiotic.

Maybe you want to report spam? Maybe you’ve accidentally posted or spotted a thread in the wrong forum and want to request the thread be moved?
Many of us think of this place as a community, and as such feel that we should all be contributors to that community. But some folks don’t. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as long as they don’t interfere with the smooth operation of this MB.
Honestly, I don’t even know how to do that. I just assume other people will if there is a problem.
Why am i not surprised that it was Jinx? What a fucking waste of space that guy is. And i mean literally a waste of space; he’s not especially abusive or confrontational or anything, but has to be one of the biggest net drains on this board.

Jinx and ralph124c: asking so many fucking stupid questions that they can’t even remember their own prior threads. Between them, they have started literally thousands of threads, a huge proportion of which ask questions that are so basic that a simple Google search would have provided the answer in two seconds, or so fucking poorly thought-out that they suggest little more than boredom on the part of the author. I sometimes think these guys sit in front of their computers and ask themselves, “What question, somehow related to an obscure or vaguely-remember reference from years ago, can i bug the SDMB with today?”
Come to think of it, have these two morons ever been sighted in the same thread together? Surely that much of a vacuum would shut down the servers or something.

As I stated in the previous davidmich pitting, I don’t really mind the questions. Yes, they can be googled, and yes, they can be stupid, but they sometimes lead to interesting discussions and down different paths.

I didn’t get the issue a year ago, and I don’t get it now. davidm asks questions in GQ, the forum dedicated to asking questions. He participates in the threads and politely thanks people for responding to his questions.
And that’s jerkish behaviour?!?

If you don’t want to participate in his threads, just don’t click on them.
And as for the comment that he doesn’t contribute to the boards: asking questions and triggering discussions is itself a contribution, and a valuable one, in my opinion.
I hope davidm just ignores all the Miss Grundy posters who sniff disapprovingly at the trivial quirks of other posters, and that he keeps asking questions.

What business is it of yours to ask if another poster has sent a Private message to a mod? And on what basis do you expect the mods to discuss Private messages?
And so what whether a particular poster has or has not reported a post? The report function is private, to encourage posters to report.

Asking questions is a form of contribution if it sparks a decent conversation or brings to light interesting factoids. At least he is unfailingly polite and thanks contributors.
