You could not be more out of line with this statement. Your raw vitriol in that thread, and in this pitting, could well be aimed at a nearby mirror with more propriety.
Not only is it not at all inappropriate for a Doper to post information shared in one thread when posting to another, it is very much the norm. YOU may not like that idea, but you posted one hell of a lot of highly detailed information in that thread called “Ask The Stripper”. That was you. You OP’d that thread. You could not have been more clear in your invitation. We should ask, you will hold forth- and in remarkably great detail.
Lashing out at a Doper who read information you freely offered on this board flies in the face of what The Straight Dope Message Board is about.

Nah, VCO3 phrased his question in a way that was possibly offensive, but gave him enough wiggle room to claim that he didn’t mean for people to interpret it as being nasty. Considering his posting history, he probably did mean for it to be subtly insulting.
Sampiro makes no secret of his orientation. If he posted something about his O-ring burning, after starting a thread about eating some good Mexican food, someone popping in to post, “Do you have anal sex? I’ve heard that gay guys sometimes get sore assholes from getting reamed out by their boyfriends,” would probably get jumped on with both feet by most of the posters here. No one would defend him from Sampiro’s (undoubtedly eloquent and creative) wrath.
Making assumptions, even when they are couched as “questions,” is not all that nice. There were a lot more likely reasons for her to have a migraine, as one of the earlier posters pointed out, and VCO3 could have either asked about a more likely proximate cause, or just kept out of it. He asked a faux-innocent and potentially offensive question, got called on it, and it happened to bother Indygrrl enough to pit him for it too.
I don’t blame her for it. Some days I handle the “do gaijin really <something no one in any Western culture I’ve ever heard of does but is a stereotypical foreign practice>?” or “What do you think about <pop culture reference I’ve never even heard of because I’ve been living in Japan for 7 years>?” questions with equanimity. Other days, it’s all I can do to keep from yelling at them for asking me ignorant and bigoted questions.
Actually, considering his posting history, I cannot conceive of VCO3 trying to be subtly insulting. Frankly, his insults and jibes go off like a firecracker in a septic tank, except that far more shit goes flying around.
