First of all, I don’t see much insulting of you here, except from perhaps a random poster or two, much less “any and every” insult. The vast majority of responses have been rather level-headed. Persecution complex much?
Second, let me get this straight…it’s okay for you to come in here and insult VCO3, perhaps one of the easiest pit targets, subject of pitting after pitting? The fact that most people in this thread are not agreeing with you should at least tip you off that perhaps you were being a bit rash in your rush to offense. I personally can’t remember any pit thread where the majority of posters sided with VCO3. That should tell you something.
So, go ahead, take your ball and go home.
You know, I don’t have a dog in this either and I most certainly don’t have anything against you either, however, perhaps the more adult thing to do would have been to take a look at what four pages of posts are saying and admit that you may just in fact be wrong.

If she were a profession that Dopers, in general, respected, the thread would have gone very differently. Oh, I know that many will say that they have no problem with strippers, but I don’t really believe that.
Especially if you read comments about how she is an attention whore for talking about her job, where the rest of us can talk about our jobs without any such label.

WTF ever. I don’t disrespect strippers. One of the most level-headed people I’ve met in my life is an ex-stripper. (Her ex ran the joint. Now SHE has stories.)
I think the ire about this stupid issue has a lot more to do with Indygrrl TALKING ABOUT BEING a stripper than it does with her actually, you know, being a stripper. She’s the one who, hello, started a THREAD about it, so it’s obvious she thinks - and understands - that people in general might find it unusual, bizarre, interesting, unsettling, confusing, and generally entertaining to talk about.
To then declare that reference to it is verboten because it’s ATTACKING her is either disingenuous, blatantly insulting, or both.
