I just found out that Dark Horse did a Batman Tarzan limited series.
1st question Was it any good?
Years ago I bought the early Marvel DC crossovers of Superman and Spider-man and I think Batman and the Hulk {who thought that was a good idea by the way}
So what about other cross overs we’d like to see but haven’t
or, tell me about your favorites because I probably missed others.
I always wanted to see Phantom , Ghost who walks and Batman.
Captain America and Batman.
Thor and Superman
Hulk vs Lobo
Iron Man must have some DC potentials since XO is gone.
There was once a tongue-in-cheek Archie Comics/Punisher crossover, in which the Punisher chases a criminal who looks a rather lot like Archie into Riverdale. Hilarity ensues. The final panel jokingly set up a follow up in which Wolverine is hired to take out a Jughead look-alike. Now that I’d like to see.
Batman/Aliens is a pretty awesome crossover. I got both episodes for hubby for xmas a couple of years ago, and it’s a pretty good read. The Dark Knight and the Aliens are a pretty good match-up, IMHO.
If I was going to pair Iron Man up with anyone in the DC universe it would be Green Arrow. Stark the industrialist and Green Arrow the near communist. It would be like the Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow series only even more over the top.
Spectre/Dr. Strange would work very well if only because I could see the Spectre in an antagonistic role for the cross over.
Now to add my own suggestion, how about Batman/Power Pack. Hey, stop laughing! Marvel’s been doing some decent Power Pack revivals lately and some of the best issues of their original series were when they teamed up with the X-Men. Place those four kids next to Wolverine and fun ensues! And Batman has had Robin around for a long time. If you don’t need your Batman to be an utterly grim and relentless soldier of the night in every appearance it could work very well. It’s a lot more interesting to put contrasting characters next to each other and let them play off one another than it is to set two similar characters together.
On that note, how about Dr. Doom vs. Lex Luthor (Silver or Modern age). You’ve got two mad scientist types but use the story to play up their differences. And there’s no way the two of them would get along for a team up…
