No rules! Any era, any medium. An exercise in imagination.
Want to see Superman comics from the 1940s cross over with the movie War Games? Want All In the Family cast to meet The Thin Man? Want James T Kirk to interfere with Rhett Butler?
Go for it!
All I ask is that you explain why. Or, what do you want to see come from the cross over.
I’ll start:
Dune Trilogy books with Tom Baker version Doctor Who. Will Maud’ib have insight into the Doctor’s past generations? Will the Gift of the Time Lords allow The Doctor to understand the Bene Gesserit and their purpose? How will the TARDIS react to Guild Navigators and vice versa?
I was in elementary school in 1983, and knew then what I’m saying now: if the federal government can’t catch a team of wanted felons, they’d call in the FBI’s go-to agent for impossible cases. Wait, those crooks use an expert pilot as their getaway driver? The man with the badge assures us he’s got a trick up his sleeve to ground any fliers.
Yeah, that’s right: it’s The Greatest American Hero versus the A-Team.
(You’re maybe thinking: what poor soul is the A-Team helping this week? Well, he’s an innocent man being hunted by a misguided vigilante organization. Which is to say that Michael Knight is hot on the trail of David Banner.)
There have been a number of Sherlock Holmes vs. Dracula efforts, but, alas, none of them (IMO) have been very good. It certainly could be done well…and should be!
I’d like to see an Ian Banks’ Culture/Star Trek crossover, which would imply that the Culture is what the Federation would eventually grow up to be. Let the Enterprise encounter a GSV …
Trek forward observer: “It makes a Borg cube look like a Rubik’s cube …”
GSV mind: “The Borg? We’ve encountered them before. Just another hegemonizing swarm, really. Zap them wit a little gridfire and they go away.”
How I Met your Mother just once should have the characters get in a cab and have it be Rev. Jim from Taxi. I just like the idea of it all.
I will like to see Colonel John Casey of Chuck be an irregular on Agents of Shield. He is a badass normal used to handling non-normals. He seems like an excellent recruit for shield and Josh Wedon already likes using Adam Baldwin.
The Doctor and Star Trek should cross-over. That could be great. It could be for a movie or to help launch a new show.
I almost forgot about that! Thanks!
I thought Billie Piper telling Christopher Eccleston to “Spock it up a bit” in The Empty Child was going to maybe bring in a very limited cross over of some type, but I was wrong.
My Little Ponies and Teen Titans (Raven is secretly a fan)
I’ve seen some fairly interesting fan made MLP and Doctor Who crossovers how about making it cannon?
The fan based idea that Harry Potter’s mother was actually a transformed pony is cute too.
