I’ve always wanted to see a Batman vs Punisher crossover. Has there been one? If not who wins? As a Marvel fan the bias in me wants to say The Punisher, but Batman has always been one of my favorite characters. I think both characters are more ruthless than your traditional heroes.
Homer Simpson v Peter Griffin.
No?
Homer wins, he can’t be knocked out.
it’s been done.
Check Amazon for the TPB.
Did you know that there was an Archie?Punisher Limited Series? Silliest thing I’ve seen in years. Frank Castle gets a kiss from Miss Grundy.
The very best part about the JLA/Avengers crossover is Batman taking out the Punisher - completely off-panel.
Actually there have been two. One has Punisher visiting Gotham chasing Jigsaw and running into Batman/Azrael. The second (better one) has Batman visiting NYC chasing the Joker and running into Punisher.
I think they are both in Crossover Classics vol 3.
Sadly, there hasn’t been a Batman/DareDevil team up yet. I don’t think.
Isn’t that cheating? People are ***still ***whining about the same method being used for the Wolverine/Lobo fight and that happened when I was in middle school, a good ten years ago.
isn’t what cheating?
I’m sure I’ve seen a batman/ daredevil crossover, though I didn’t buy it.
Are you referring to the off-panel fight in JLA v. Avengers? I think it was pretty fairly done - Punisher isn’t an Avenger, so on-panel time was pretty valuable in that series. Plus, I think the level of rage Batman would have after seeing a vigilante recklessly taking lives like the Punisher does would put the win firmly in Bruce’s column.
I’d like to see the Legion of Super Heroes / Guardians of the Galaxy (aka the Legion of Super Heroes).
Also, Doom Patrol / X-Men. I think the Doom Patrol did the outcast schtick before the X-Men.
Lastly, Eternals / New Genesis. Jack “King” Kirby for everyone.
I know there is at least one Batman/Daredevil crossover, and perhaps two. There was talk of new crossovers (perhaps to be written by Brian Michael Bendis on the Marvel side and Ed Brubaker on the DC side), but the rumors were recently squelched because Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada insulted DC Publisher Paul Levitz, and now Levitz won’t allow their characters to interact.
Being killed off-panel.
That’s a good way of looking at it, I suppose, but why have Punisher involved at all then? And I wasn’t disputing that Batman would win, by the way. Even as much as I dislike him, I’d pick him in a fight over any non-superpowered hero except Captain America. I’d have to go with Cap then.
Cap’s powered. Technically.
The Punisher thing was nice because it was a humorous moment in the story. Batman’s just given Plastic Man a lecture on not interfering with this strange Earth - then sees the Punisher. Cut to a panel later, and Plas is reading Batman the riot act for not taking his own advice, and trashing that guy in the kevlar.
Ah. I can see that then and it does sound funny. I’m imagining Batman kind of looking at the ground while getting lectured and that makes it even funnier although I’m sure he wasn’t… doesn’t fit in with the character?
How did he know about the Punisher?
And Cap’s powers have always been described as being the best you can possibly be without being super-powered which is why I was including him as a human.
No, he wasn’t looking at the ground, he was just being gruff and aloof.
He knew about the Punisher because he saw him gunning down some drug dealers.
I’ve always heard them described as just over the line into superhuman. Barely.
Marvel.com says that his abilities are superior to those of Olympic athletes but makes no mention of him being superhuman.
…and I hate when I put question marks where periods are intended. I knew it didn’t fit in with his character. Bleh.
There was a brief encounter between Batman “Year One” and Daredevil “red-and-yellow” in the Unlimited Access mini-series.
Pssst… Stuffy, come post in my thread!
Preacher/Lucifer
GI Joe/Sad Sack
Richie Rich/Wolverine
Lobo/Strangers in Paradise
