Yeah, I thought about that, and I suppose all civilizations are built on mass murder on some level. Still, I find his notions somewhat distasteful.
Your notion that all of our soldiers there should be killed isn’t exactly a common sentiment as far as I can tell either, but it doesn’t cause me to think ill of you.
Clearly, the article does not go far enough. To get rid of Islamic terrorism, you must get rid of all followers of Islam. So the US must:
(1) Bomb all countries with a majority Muslim population. What does it matter if you kill a few Christians, Hindus, etc.: it’s their fault for living with those nasty Muslims.
(2) Find all the Muslims in the US, and send them to prison camps, unless they renounce Islam and become good Christians. (Because we know that Christians are civilised and never practice terrorism).
(3) Tell the other countries with Muslim minorities (like Britain, France, Russia and China) that they have to do the same, or the US will bomb them until they do the right thing.
There’s no point in taking half measures in these things. If you just bomb Iraq into submission, you’ll leave Muslims everywhere else who might become terrorists. You’ve got to stop them before they get any ideas like that.
It doesn’t? It causes me to think quite ill of him.
Please, the guy has back issues
Would that he could find honorable men willing to surround him. Without pitchforks and iron bars, I mean
As if.
I just wish I could forget I ever heard it.
I causes me to think he’s ill.
The guy is clearly discussing a Civilization IV mod.

So do the folks you argue with.

Dude, that article is so obviously a parody. The “real” meaning of it is that Dick Cheney thinks we should kill children and feed them to the rich.
Oh thank you! Thank you so much, that was comedy gold!
I love this. I wanna be compassionate, but it’s like reading the autobiography of a Bond Villain. You can just picture him sitting in his dinky little council flat on a plastic mat dressed up in blue dungarees with a little propellor hat, plotting world destruction
It’s worse than that…it’s like reading the autobiography of a Doper.
Here’s my question: if Bush did do what the writer advocates, what’d be the point of “bring[ing] sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court”? If he was able to do all that, both institutions would become powerless and redundant. Did the writer just not think this through? Does he have a completely different conception of what a President (or even a President for Life) can do than the rest of us?
Well, the toga would be comedic gold (we’ve already seen one joke with the whole sober thing) and the honorable men would be an improvement over Congress, so I’m somewhat conflicted too.
Are you kidding me? Winning Civilization is all about mass genocide and dictatorship.
Now, if Bush lives 6000 years, then we’ve got problems.
If we’re going to start a Pit thread every time someone finds someone writing something insane on the Internet, we’ll have no room for any other sort of thread. Who cares what some wingnut’s writing on the 'net?
I mean, it’s even more useless than a “I hate Fred Phelps” thread. A HUNDRED times more useless.
Ain’t that the damned truth. Communism demands too many police, and the war weariness under Democracy just sucks ass.
.
This plan seems poorly thought out. In particluar, I question the wisdom of colonizing a nation after you have sterilized it with nuclear weapons. I submit that this demonstrates a certain lack of forethought.
I do, however, agree with the writer that Bush should declare himself President-for-Life of America. That would be great.
Even better, he should declare himself President-for-Life of Iraq. They would love it. He could make the declaration in that big plaza where the statue of Saddam Hussein was pulled down. It would be symbolic. He could even wear his flight suit if he wanted to. They could have a parade.
Depends on where you ask. The people who we are actually killing and abusing have a rather different opinion than the Americans who go on and on about how “noble” and “self sacrificing” our murderers in uniform are.
But then they aren’t Americans, so I guess they aren’t human enough to have opinions.
Under his toga? I think this is an idea with legs. Bush for President of Iraq. Or maybe “Bush/Cheney for Iraq!”
