Commercial Non-Sequitirs

There’s this Triscuit commercial getting a lot of airplay. An attractive woman is trying to unpuzzle “nongenemodicuit” or some such. After deciding it means “non genetically modified Triscuit” made with GMO-free grain, she winks and says (flirtatiously) “I am also not genetically modified”.

Not Super Bowl caliber, sure. But it doesn’t make much sense. If you look beyond trying to get into her genes.

Any other nominations for commercials that just make you scratch your head? (As opposed to clever, annoying or good/bad)?

Can we count the behavior in infomercials? I’m thinking about the one for an ear-cleaning device where the actor jabs a cotton swab in his ear and is startled by the resulting pain. What did he expect with that technique?

The woman is Cecily Strong who currently is on SNL.
