Commercials I'm enjoying right now

Thank you for that link.

I just teared up at a commercial for United Way/Toys for Tots. Little boy asking the Marine guard if he’s Santa, and giving him a note. The Marine continues to stand at attention but slowly opens his hand and takes the note. Little boy runs off saying “He is Santa!”

Kids and Christmas, they’ll get me every time – unless they’re kids in a huge and beautifully decorated living room sitting around a huge tree and tearing open fifty presents.

Love the Peyton Manning ads. "Hey, nice salad bar, man ".

Today I just saw the new Nike ads starring “The LeBrons” as in LeBron James who plays all the roles a la Eddie Murphy in “The Nutty Professor”. Hilarious and fun.

I pretty much love all of the ESPN commercials but the one that is currently tickling me at the point is the one with LeBron James (nicknamed King James). LeBron walks into a generic office space with cubicles and looks into his cubicle and sees a crappy run down office chair. He goes over to the next cubicle and sees one of the ESPN anchors sitting on a big throne who denies having taken his chair. Hilarious.

  • The one for (internet radio) where Snoop Dog is searching high and low for his SNOOP chain, and it winds up with David Bowie lovingly wearing it while Snoop walks away.
  • And the Dunkin’ Donuts one with the guy happily greeting people in the Wal-Mart-like store with Xmas Latte in hand (“You’re reindeer, you’re reindeer!”), the manager asks him, “Um, do you work here?”, and then his wife comes and drags him out of the store. Just makes me laugh.

As the mother of a 13-year-old girl, I cracked up when I saw this commercial. I screamed “Look! It’s Ivygirl!” to my husband. Of course, my daughter just glared at me, but dayum, she gets more phone calls after school then I get all day at work.

There’s a commercial for a Monster-type job search agency where the job seeker is told by the agent that there’s a job in Arizona. The seeker says he doesn’t want to live in Arizona and the agent goes back to searching, then spins the monitor to show some cacti and says something like “You’ll love Arizona. Dry heat.”

It makes me giggle every time. The expressions are priceless.

I just saw that again:

“You got your head stuck in the sunroof? That’s so not cool!”

And I think part of the reason why is the contrast. To anyone who’s seen Manning in an interview, he’s fairly straight-laced and humorless, almost to the point of being uncharismatic. He’s just that focused and professional when it’s about football.

In the commercials, he’s showing a different side of himself, and he pulls it off nicely.

I love her voice when she says “I love chewing gum!” That always makes me laugh.

I’m not sure I like those commercials, but I HAVE been wondering who exactly is tehg spokesperson. thanks.

Brian

That Super Bowl commercial made by Budweiser, where a bunch of horses playing football are standing around waiting for the umpire (played by a zebra :D) to review their play.

“What a jackass.”

I love the Peyton Manning commercials–all of them!

Gotta second (or third, fourth, whatever!) the caveman ads!

I laughed out loud when I saw the “I smell feet” ad for Guiness!

Holy cow, I hope they cleaned all that up!

Perhaps he is also mindful of the stir that he caused when he called the Colts’ Mike Vanderjagt “our idiot kicker who got liquored up” and wants to make sure that he doesn’t give the press any more ammunition.

Car commercial, Nissan I think, with the song, “Goin’ for a ride in my car, car” complete with human “brrrm brrrrrrm” sounds accompanying shots of zooming car.

True. And that’s why I used the word “uncharismatic.”

Then again, Manning had a legitimate gripe.

First a shout out to the Russian Fashion Show: “Is next, Day Vear”

I loved that commercial!
Too bad about Capital One, along with their excellent Barbarian series of commercials, I LOVE the one where the family shows up at the grandparents house. “The credit card company blocked out all the good dates, kids go put on your Halloween costumes while your mother hides the Easter eggs. You gonna cook that?”

“We’re all hot.”

Just a great commercial.

Yes, Overstock.com appeals to me on a more animalistic level.

Geico’s “Kung-Fu Fighting” commercial is great, but I don’t think it’s currently in rotation as was their visiting the house where the lady had all the cats.

That’s all I got right now.
