This has proven to be especially hilarious in the Great Debates; several months ago, he foreswore any further communication with me… but he just couldn’t resist for long. Breaking down, he developed this bizarre tactic of quoting me and directly responding to my words… all while pretending to address hypothetical third parties. It is simultaneously funny and a bit pitiful, really.
This short excerpt is the only mildly interesting portion of an otherwise dull, predictable, and juvenile diatribe. Your weak justifications for your behavior notwithstanding, the key point is that you explicitly admit that you have been engaging me without a good-faith effort to actually participate in anything approaching a debate. In other words, you have been shitting over perfectly good Great Debates threads for no real reason other than an abject inability to support your dogmatic capitalist positions. Thank you for having the courage to publically admit this. Now, please refrain from doing it again; if you have nothing to contribute to a debate, please relegate yourself to the role of spectator.

What actually happened was that I stated that I would not treat him in GD as if he was there for a discussion, and as such I would not get into conversations with him. I have, however, continued to point out his errors of fact and/or times when his trolling is blatantly obvious but perhaps not clear to those folks who don’t know him from Adam.
And so, like clockwork, our little friend comes back for another hit of his drug of choice. Even better, he does it in the exact same fashion that I pointed out in my last post: a direct quotation of yours truly, followed by a response to yours truly, directed to a hypothetical third party audience. How nice.
I do have some advice for you, my frothy friend: you need to start giving some consideration to quality, rather than just quantity. We all know that you can throw up Walls of Text with the best of them, but this is not the same thing as actually having a good argument. For instance, in that thread you referred to, you ended up vomiting up several tomes’ worth of verbiage… And most of it ultimately came down to angrily demanding that I prove that North Korea acted legally in responding to South Korean military provocation. Instead of actually backing up your assertion, you wasted everyone’s time (and several pages of the thread) by telling others to disprove it… Maybe you should put some of your apparently ample free time to good use and brush up on rudimentary debate skills, eh? I guarantee that this would make people less likely to treat you like a buffoon in the future.
The problem is that while trolls like Commy pretend to be retarded, Elvis really is mentally retarded and can not comprehend why he’s cognitively unable to cope with debate.
My favorite Elvis The Retard moment was when he got furious, and maintained his retard-strength rage for quite some time… because he’s evidently unable to mentally process metaphors, let alone recognize historical metaphors, folks weren’t able to talk him down.
I think that this is what causes some people confusion in GD (especially since other posters aren’t legally able to point out the fact that Commy is a troll in that forum). His chosen mode of trolling is to make himself seem mildly retarded in the hope that he’ll annoy people, but most people reading along just see a retard and, until they realize what he is, they try to patiently explain basic facts and logic to him.
I can grok that some folks want to annoy others, or even that some bored basement dwellers take some sort of satisfaction from believing that they’ve caused problems for folks who are used to what daylight feels like on their faces… but deliberately embarrassing yourself in the hope that you might annoy someone? Yeah, I don’t get it either. He’s a lot like FXM, Le Jac and The Gonz…he actually thinks he’s winning these debates or even contributing something meaningful. Granted, my own contributions to most of these things is fairly light weight, but I’m well aware of that. These guys don’t seem to be aware at all of how embarrassing their posts actually are.
Or, perhaps there is some weird form of trolling where you make yourself look like a complete idiot, turn an entire message board against you and ultimately get banned (though none of the folks above have managed to get banned, so perhaps it’s not working out well for them yet). I think it’s the latter rather than the former. I really do not believe that Commy is as mentally challenged as he pretends to be. See one of my earlier posts a bit above, for instance, with cited examples like him claiming I was “lying my ass off”… and in order to prove how I was lying, he cited me saying, verbatim, what he was denying I’d said. IIRC he even underlined the claim I’d made, while saying it was a lie, while citing me saying the exact same thing word-for-word. I’m familiar with the various pathologies of mild cognitive disabilities, but the degree of pure liquid stupid that would leave someone making ‘honest mistakes’ like that would mean that he couldn’t tie his shoes in the morning, let alone type sentences with proper syntax.
Instead, it seems that he has adopted a persona as deliberately offensive as he can make it: a fascist, smarmy, faux-friendly, ideologue, idiot, willfully ignorant propagandist, opposed to both European style socialism and capitalism while pretending to hold to a cereal-box level understanding of communism, and cheerfully in favor of tyranny, brutality and in opposition to freedom, democracy and free speech. That he’s crafted a persona and is trying to annoy people is, I think, reasonably likely to be the actual situation. Remember his “LOL I lurve Quadaffi!” thread where he actually posted that he expected Dopers to flock to support Quadaffi. Not even to oppose military action against him, but to support Quadaffi in our rage against the protestors who were having the nerve to object to being ruled over by a tyrant.
Honestly, even The Gonz, someone stupid enough to defend “faggy” as a perfectly acceptable adjective, wasn’t stupid enough to think that people would be flocking to his banner in support. And say what you will about him, Commy is not actually as stupid as Elvis or The Gonz.

If I dismissed all contrary opinions to my own and thought everyone who had a contrary opinion to mine on any number of subjects then this would be the last place in the world I’d post too, since there aren’t more than a few posters who share my own opinions on this board, and even with them it’s only in a few vertical subjects. The reason I love this board is BECAUSE the majority of 'dopers not only hold contrary opinions to my own (thus allowing me to test my own premises, find flaws in what I ‘know’ and toss out stuff that I’m just dead wrong about) but because they are able to express their different opinions in intelligent and engaging ways.
Unlike you, who are basically just a troll who really doesn’t know much about the subjects you are trolling. It’s interesting that you seem to be expending the majority of your effort in THIS thread, rather than giving the board the pearls of your wisdom in any of the GD threads you dropped some dung in so far. Imagine that sort of behavior, but instead of in the Pit, in GD. He babbles constantly about “The Empire” in order to try to piss people off rather than simply calling it America, he takes every chance he can get to support tyranny, brutality, loss of civil rights, suppression of freedom of speech, etc… all the while either inventing non-facts or rationalizing reasons that he’s pissing Americans off now. The Glorious Soviet Union (you’ll notice he generally speaks in Pravda Speak in a manner that’s so over the top that it’s clear that he’s not only trolling, but enjoying the mods’ impotence) can invade other nations and that’s good and non-imperial, but if America does it’s an Empire and it doesn’t care about sovereignty. Sovereignty, in turn, is very very important as long as it’s not another totalitarian nation violating it; The Glorious People’s Republic of China is awesome despite the fact that it’s still occupying Tibet and denying them sovereignty. One of his first threads here, as an American citizen, was pitting “The Empire”. He babbles endlessly about Glorious dictatorships, but somehow can’t manage to move to one. Etc…

Folks care because, well, trolls should be banned and removed from our presence.
