Come on it’s been obvious for months he’s a Maestro of Trolls, playing the audience in GD perfectly.

That’s the problem - he isn’t that good.

Obvious troll has been obvious for months. I can see giving him the benefit of the doubt for a couple of weeks, but how long does he jump up and down yelling “I’M A TROLL! I’M A TROLL! HEY, LOOK OVER HERE UNDER THE BRIDGE AT ME!” and nothing happens?

Most of the mods do a good job most of the time, but there are instances like this where their actions are just not susceptible to rational explanation. It’s clear to everyone what is going on, and he’s still here.

Er, just to be clear, are you saying you agree with Commissar’s adulation of Ghaddafi, that you believe that the NATO intervention in Libya is in fact some sort of ‘crusade’ by ‘Christendom’, are you supporting him simply because he claims to be a Communist, or what?

At the explicit request of our friends and allies in the rightful socialist government of Afghanistan, our glorious Red Army was order into the country in order to liberate its citizenry from counter-revolutionary, CIA-financed, treacherous terrorist elements. Make no mistake about it: the intervention was a just one. Still, we should probably have allowed the Afghans to work their issues out on their own. As things turned out, we lost a lot of good men for little return… That’s what you get when you try to magnanimously help others, I suppose. Sigh…

I am reminded of the “Doonesbury” sequence where the Soviet ambassador to the UN is delivering the party line, while Vietnamese ambassador Phred finds it increasingly difficult to maintain a straight face. Finally, when the Soviet ambassador explains that they executed the guy who invited them in because he was working for the CIA, Phred completely cracks up laughing, whereupon the Soviet ambassador turns to him and yells, “IT’S TRUE, DAMMIT!”

I don’t support his politics nor his adulation of Gaddafi. I do however agree with him that the intervention was an uncalled for power-play by the members involved.

The Libyan rebels, portrayed by Whitehall propagandists as plucky little democrats, are hardly more sympathetic than Gaddafi’s supporters, with those in the east at odds both with each other and with those in the west. While Britain claims to be “protecting” the population, the latest, admittedly unreliable, estimates put the civilian toll from bombing at 1,100 dead and countless injured. Certainly hundreds must have died. The RAF is clearly running out of targets and must justify each new attack in terms more appropriate to a Maoist hysteric. Last week the Tripoli television station was destroyed and reporters killed, “to disrupt the broadcast of Gaddafi’s murderous rhetoric”. What has that to do with the original war aim?
