You’re right. I just looked at the dark timeline link from SenorBeef and they do start to sing Roxanne before Jeff says, “No!” I can’t believe I couldn’t make that out before. Thanks.

Yeah, it’s Jeff, specifically, that hushes Britta every time she starts to sing Roxanne.
Britta: “ROX–”
Jeff: “No!”

Except when Jeff is the one getting the pizza, then Britta continues to sing it and others join in and they all start to have fun.

I’m not sure that it references any specific movie, but it made me think of Run Lola Run.

I like to think that these branching universes were actually created, and Abed was right. Of course, no one could ever know, but woe to the gang in the alternate universe when Troy went to go get the pizzas.

Seeing the Dark Timeline gang at the end in the study group was the height of an already awesome episode.

I’ll bet they do an entire episode of the characters in the Dark Timeline at some point. It’s just too good to pass up.

Also, I think the best gag was Troy asking what a pregnancy test looks like, Jeff half-heartedly explains, then he pulls out the gun; then maybe Troy screaming in terror at the troll.

I just love it how this show isn’t afraid to dive deeper into absurdism. They do it so well.

What was the joke with Brita’s blue hair thing? What was that supposed to represent?

It was so, so funny. I noticed right away that Jeff had figured out a way to avoid getting the pizza and I wondered it that would be addressed. Holy smokes.

I don’t know if it’s my #1 episode ever, but I’d say definitely top 5.

I wish we could have seen what happened to make Britta fall in love with the pizza guy. That’s not really a complaint, I’m just curious what the writers imagined would happen in a couple of minutes to make her decide to marry him.

Shirley using ketchup and cream cheese on a pizza made me laugh out loud - probably because I’ve been watching a lot of “Chopped” lately.

It was such an awesome episode, I feel like I should have more comments, but there may have been too many funny moments.

I took it to be one of her standard “See, I’m in touch with the poor/oppressed/afflicted! Really! Look, it affects me too!” things that ultimately prove how out of touch/unaffected she truly is. So when Jeff said something about him losing an arm and her having a wash-away blue streak, meaning to be sarcastic and point out how these things are not at all alike, she answers him with a totally straight-faced “I know.

I really liked how rough they made missing-arm Jeff look in the dark timeline. I would have liked to have seen everyone wear the goatees, though …

Britta: “Troy lost his larynx because he tried to eat a troll statue!”
Troy (via electronic larynx): “I don’t think you know how you defeat a troll.”

As for the Run Lola Run reference, I hadn’t thought of that. It would have been kind of cool to have a little animated clip to begin each timeline (like Run Lola Run), but I think I would have gotten tired of that after about three or four times. It worked out great just the way it went.

Absolutely one of the classic Community episodes.

I want more Evil Troy and Evil Abed.

It’s:

“Troy lost his larynx because for some dumb reason he tried to destroy a flaming troll doll by eating it”
“Clearly you don’t understand anything about defeating trolls”

The way Jeff gestures to display his arm as she checks him off on the list of injuries is awesome.

It’s implied that Britta was getting quite high in the bathroom, and I just figured that falling in love with the Pizza guy was a ‘high Britta’ thing to do. Kind of like her dancing in excitement for the arrival of the pizza in the other timelines.

I love that there’s a sit-com out there where I can discuss alternate timelines. I don’t see Whitney creating alternate timelines.

The Evil timeline has to comeback a la Star Trek’s ‘Mirror’ universe.

I think the joke was everyone else’s lives were in Ruins and all that changed for Britta was she now has Blue hair.

It could have also been a references to the random changes they make to characters in sci fi shows when they deal with alternate universes.

Except that in this timeline, she went to get the pizza, so she didn’t go to the bathroom to get high.

I propose that the Dark Timeline gives rise to Star Trek’s Mirror Universe.

Troy pulling out his fancy case of candy cigarettes had me in tears.

When he put the cigarette to his mouth, I was thinking, “Whoa, look at Troy being all sophisticat-- CANDY!”

That was hillarious when he ate just as Britta was trying to light it.

When Britta started doing the pizza dance after coming out of the bathroom, I thought that was a little oddly out of character, but then as they progressed, it got funnier and funnier. I inferred that she smoked some pot with the pizza guy and they decided to get married while they were getting high.

Once again, this show is streets ahead of anything else on TV.

You think she showed up at Abed & Troy’s party sober without a little pre-gaming? The bathroom tokes were just to keep the buzz going.

The only thing I found unbelievable was how could they turn down homemade pies?

That’s just wrong. I don’t care if Shirley has a baking problem. They’re pies for chissakes!

Troy and Britta totally nailed this episode, between the pizza dance, the candy cigarette, and the troll. “I WANT TO BE HOUSEWARMED!”

OK, I’m a complete moron. I thought troy ate a real cigarette because he was still immature and naive. And also because something like that would happen in the Community universe :smack:

Edit: Also, I thought that they quit making candy cigarettes.
