The first section – up to the commercial – was the funniest bit of television I’ve seen . . . well, since the season premiere.

It flagged a bit after that, but the final part was terrific.

Eartha Kitt would approve.

I thought it was great from beginning to end. Hilariously funny and sweet at the same time. And the decent into Chaos of the Dark universe was just brutally funny.

The girlfriend and me were laughing out loud when Troy came back to the apartment, quickly since he didn’t want to “miss anything”.

Here on the west coast it’s only 10 minutes into the show. Pretty funny so far. But I’m wondering, is this referencing a tv show or movie?

Oh my god, by the time Troy came back with the pizzas in the dark timeline and he’s faced with all these horrible things going on and there’s the Norwegian troll staring at him… well I was actually crying with laughter.

It’s interesting that Jeff’s absence (temporarily) in the timeline where Abed catches the die is what allowed the rest of the group to bond and have a good time.

I really enjoyed this episode, but I don’t need to hear *Roxanne *again anytime soon.

You know who else got tired of Roxanne? Eartha Kitt, while she was getting banged in an airplane bathroom by Pierce.

That’s not organic.

What was everybody starting to yell before Britta asks where the bathroom is? I could never make it out.

That was amazing. I also like how dark that timeline ended up, with Pierce dead, Jeff missing an arm, Troy missing a larynx because he ate the troll, Shirley a drunk, and Annie in the mental hospital from guilt.

I also liked Abed’s timeline, where everyone else was paired up and having sweet bonding moments that quickly went wrong. Especially when Pierce tried to keep Troy from taking the present and Troy yelling something like “you don’t know how to give presents right!” Although really, pretty much any moment in any episode where Troy is either yelling or crying is great.

Also, if anyone wants to buy a friend a housewarming gift, you can buy a Norwegian troll from here.

This episode ranks among the pantheon of Community episodes. Brilliant.

We figured out Jeff was tricking them when we figured there was 7 in the group. Troy is quickly becoming my favorite. But Abed will always hold a special place.

I just love how Britta scolds Abed for asking about the smell in the bathroom because it isn’t dignified, and then turns around and does the goofy song and dance in response to the pizzas’ arrival. The alternate timelines highlight how many times Gillian had to do that.

I really love when this show just goes wild and does something totally unconventional.

The moment when Troy comes back in and sees the troll is funnier all the combined funny of the entire run of most sitcoms.

“YOU!”

I actually felt bad for Shirley for the first time ever.

I put the darkest timeline up on my youtube page. NBC has actually been pretty cool about not taking communtiy clips down - which I think is smart. I mean, people aren’t going to skip watching the show and try to catch up in random 30 second clips on youtube, those clips only help fans reinforce their love for the show and maybe pass them around to newbies. Not sure why so many companies are on lockdown in youtube like that.

Yeah. This was my favorite Community episode ever. It jumps above all of the other classics. Well constructed story, and funny from the first minute of the show.

I know it wouldn’t work for a show that’s mostly grounded in the real world, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the schemes of evil troy and abed again.

Inside joke: this episode was originally meant to be the third episode of the season but got shifted to the fourth for production reasons. Hence the joke early on about “is it 303? I thought it was 304. No, it’s 303” about the apartment door.

Oh, and I didn’t feel bad for Shirley at all. She annoyed me more in this episode than ever before. She showed up early doing unwanted baking and being annoying. She made pizza when they ordered pizza. She made pizza with disgusting ingredients. Annoying!

Hah, SenorBeef. Hadn’t heard that about the episode moving. It’s not super funny. But, funny that they would bother to remark on it like that.

So, Pierce is the only person we didn’t see go get the pizza? Right? That’s the timeline I want to see!

Man, that pregnancy test joke was funny.

Yeah, he got pizza. When he got back he made the comment about the good pizza guys going into porn.

And to repeat my two questions:

  1. Is there a TV show or movie that they’re referencing with the roll of the dice creating 6 timelines?

  2. What did everybody yell at the same time before being hushed and Britta asking where the bathroom is?

Ooops! Nobody, you’re right.

I don’t think everyone yelled anything. Right before Britta asks about using the bathroom she starts singing Roxanne and gets hushed. (Except for the time Jeff goes to get the pizza.)
