Wow! Just wow! I was laughing uncontrollably from the first shot on the screen.
I loved everything. Changlorious Bastards (“I don’t get it, either”), Annie using the lint roller, Troy and Abed taking off their magic hats in the dean’s office. . . .
I can’t imagine how they could top this. Pure comic gold.
Top score! As I watched, I soon felt compelled to take notes on my favorite parts:
-The opening shot of Annie starts on Annie’s boobs (though not on Annie’s Boobs)
-Shirley “Big Cheddar” Bennet
-Leonard served in the North Korean army?
-Real Neil, with Daybreak
-Ferris Buellerian
-Admiral North
-Were you in The Cape?
When pillow fighting, when you stop hitting them when they’re down, its common courtesy.
When you keep hitting them to make them stay down, its common sense.
The freshness in the episode was the documentary-style narration. Otherwise, it was really too close to the paintball episode in concept (except the pillow fight was “civil war” vs. the paintball fight against another school). The ending pledge drive by Abed and Troy was pretty cute though.
Good episode, but the most surreal thing about it was seeing a Depend adult diaper commercial during the first break. At first I thought it was a joke, then I thought they might be going for the Chevy Chase demographic. Very weird.
“But just because something is in black and white does not mean it is good…”.
The Keith David narration was great but I really wish they could have gotten David McCullough.
You know, when the show first aired (meaning Community as a whole, not this episode) I was kind of ambivalent: I’m glad I stuck with it. It shines with pure genius.
This is really a show you need to see more than once. I just rewatched and noticed a bunch of new things:
There are no cushions in the couch in the dean’s office.
Alltomato
Mr. Dr. Benjamin Rosenrosen at the bottom of the medical form
Chang’s “I’m watching you” poster
Making necklaces out of mattress tags.
Pictured here lying down, Troy doesn’t take this lying down.
