Jan. 2 is almost around the corner and the return of Community with Dan Harmon. It is also the farewell season for Donald Glover who will only be in 5 of the 13 episodes.

I can’t wait for it to begin, but I will miss Donald Glover. I’m not sure what they’ll do with Abed.
I saw an interview with Danny Pudi and Alison Brie. They talked about how they always liked to joke around and usually Donald Glover wanted no part of it.
So maybe with their natural chemistry, and the fact that Annie and Abed live together, maybe they’ll be paired (non romantically, of course.)
Or maybe Britta, the psych major, will spend more time with him trying to make him more normal.
I don’t think any of the women were in that except for obviously old reaction shots. Quite the difference between that and the trailer for Comedy Central which was all Annie’s Boobs (and not the monkey).
How many - if any - of those scenes will ever be seen in real shows, I wonder?

There’s going to be a Zardoz episode, apparently. This may be the greatest thing.
I am so looking forward to this. I hope that somehow this poor gem of a show can finally find an audience and get another season.
Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if, even if NBC cancels the show after five seasons, Comedy Central doesn’t pick it up for a sixth (it’s not as if they’re spending any more money on Futurama, and if it came down to a choice between Season 6 of Community and Season 4 of Brickleberry…). As for the movie, if Veronica Mars can get a movie Kickstarted, then anything is possible.
The Darkest Timeline is dark indeed.
Why is Donald Glover quitting?
I was a bit disappointed with season 4. I hope with Hammond’s return it will get it’s groove back.
He wants to concentrate on other things, primarily his music career.

We used to have plenty of discussion for individual episode threads rather than a whole season thread, so I started a 5.01 episode thread.
I just saw both of the new episodes.
And I am not really sure what I just saw.
The only laugh for me was:

It was decent, but not 100%. Still, it was more like the first three seasons (I loved it when Danny Glover complained that Zach Braff only did five episodes in the final season of Scrubs).
Favorite throwaway: The blackboard in the Nic Cage course that had “Always Be Caging” on it.
Could we use the episode thread? The show gets enough discussion to justify it, and running seasonal threads tend to get lost and unfocused and end up resulting in about 1/3rd of the posts of using episodic threads.
