Company's coming in the MMP!!!!!!!

Random fact: I used to know the guy who played the tuba in the A&W commercials.
(Too mundane and pointless to put anywhere else, so I’ll shove it here.)

Sorry about your granddad, {{{Rio}}}

Any guests ChezBrarian had better be cool with our singular, long-enough-for-a-normal-human couch (we also have a short couch that can accommodate one fifth grader or a sleepy Grrlbrarian). We’ve got three bedrooms, but all three are occupied with no trundle or airbeds to hand. I adore visitors and wouldn’t mind if people turned up with sleeping bags on the spur of the moment, but they must take ChezBrarian as they find it, pet hair, empty fridge, and all.

Welcome back, Rio!! Glad you didn’t forget us.

I went to WaWa for a Chef’s salad - it was quite good. For a pre-packaged meal, it’s a good size and a decent price. Plus all I have to wash is a fork.

Green bedroom is ready for The Return of the Daughter!! The floor is cleared, as is the futon (except for the wedding gift - I’ll find a place for that eventually.) I still need to put sheets on the futon, but they’re out and ready. Plus there’s space for her to hang clothes in the closet if needed.

Maybe I’ll do the blue bedroom later today, maybe tomorrow. We’ll see how I feel. It’ll need to pass the in-law test. OK, not really. As long as there’s a place for their suitcases and clean sheets, they’re happy.

I had to stop to re-calamine my various blisters. Two masses of them are leaking a lot, so when I get tired of dabbing the drips, I make with a washcloth and thoroughly clean the area, then reapply the pink stuff. It’s not a particularly attractive look. But I’m not scratching, so there’s that.

Nope, sorry. That’s my cousin’s Internet Name

Much better.

It appears that I am now running missred’s hostel for starving artists. Over the course of the next six months, I will have Sis’ college roommate’s daughter for a couple of overnights on her way to and from Boston / New York where she will audition with a couple of opera companies, several 2-3 day stays of my cousin’s son who got a songwriting contract in Nashville and the nephew of a friend in Memphis who is showing at a local gallery.

All of this in a one bedroom apartment with only a couch and/or an air mattress for guest space! In addition, Sis will be here with the chihuahui for a couple of days before we both head north for the family reunion and will be here overnight on the way home. Everybody knows that I’m a casual housekeeper (IOW, clean enough that Codes wouldn’t condemn me, but lived in) and that they have to pick up after themselves. I’m good with feeding them.

Isn’t it Glinda?

You patented that?
Do I get a cut?
:dubious:

OK, that works.

I’m sure one of the earlier versions of Mrs. Plant would be happy to stab you.:stuck_out_tongue:

missred, I’m something of a starving artist… heh. Don’t worry, I won’t make you host me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I must get back to my art now, that is to say, my music arrangement.

You eat po-tah-toes, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

No, I eat N.O.T.s :stuck_out_tongue:

And both guest bedrooms are ready for guests. On Thursday, I’ll open their a/c vents and turn on the ceiling fans.

The towels are off the lines, folded, and put away.

Now, what should we have for supper?? Decisions, decisions…

I am used to unexpected visitors. My MIL frequently shows up unannounced. Lately she’s been sleeping on my daughter’s bed. And my poor daughter gets an air mattress on the floor. She gets the house in exactly the condition she finds it. I gave up worrying about that a long time ago.

Other than that we have no guest room to speak of. On my side of the family, folks tend to stay with my folks. They live a few miles from me and have 3 guest rooms.

Rosie I think Ruble is out of town this week? I seem to remember he is not going to be online much for a while.

MIL is having bypass surgery today. Hubby is at hospital waiting while it happens. I am home with kiddos waiting for news. Up to surgery she was convinced that everyone was over-reacting. She felt fine and there was no need for concern.

Meanwhile, on the homefront, hubby and I are scrambling to re-arrange diet and exercise. I am one of those odd people who is overweight, but has perfect blood pressure and cholesterol. Hubby is pre-diabetic, and has cholesterol issues. Given what happened with his mom, we’re thinking we need to get serious abut health.

And that is Monday in Sunny-land.

Happy Moonday!

I am back but barely.

Catch up later.

Glad you’re back, sari!! You gonna show us your scar??

When I had my gall bladder out, I had 4 tiny little incisions, so I took a pic, labeled the scars, and posted it. Because I’m classy that way.

Just finished upgrading our cable service. Since **FCD **is working, we’ve gone to the next tier of service - it’s only about $25 more than we were spending, and he really likes TV. Plus there were a few channels on that tier that I really missed having. So now we do. Huzzah.

I presume your gallbladder went with less drama than mine.

Welcome back Sari!

Emily, should you come to Nashville, I would at least feed you and quite possibly offer a lumpy couch. :stuck_out_tongue:

Best wishes for your MIL’s surgery, sunny.

Welcome back, sari.

Mooom, your gall bladder scars sound just like my girly surgery scars. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay, Sari is back. I was getting a little worried.

Can it be time to go home already?
