Complaint against samclem

Here’s a cookie.

That’s the best way.

Would it be too much of a bother to ask you to provide one example of such a banning?

Not enough dissing? Too much? Help a brother out.

I said almost trolling, jerkish behavior in specific occasions, read again.

It is not, in more than one occasion I have defended them when the evidence is on their side (like in the gun issue)

Sorry, you are really wrong. There was for example a notorious meltdown of I’m Sparticus and he was as lefty as it can be, but he decided to become a jerk and banned by the administration for ragging against a conservative in the wrong place (and it was for an un-proper attack to Scylla no less! I had to agree with the banning). **Reeder ** is another example that shows you are wrong.

Well, I’m a minority Hispanic and I still say that Attorney General Gonzales is full of shit

You are still missing that it is how those posters (and not all conservatives are like that) handle the evidence. We put their feet to the fire with gusto when people still maintain dumb opinions when evidence is at hand to show how wrong they are.

In a discussion of ideas, (or even an egg-and-tomato-throwing riot about ideas), I would think that impugning would definitely be the way to go.

As to the idiotic notion that right wingers are in any danger of being banned simply for their beliefs, I also call bullshit and further state that anyone who proposes the idea is either/both a liar or a fool. A person who echoes such an idiotic notion once it has been broached may not be a liar or a fool, but that poster needs to look at the evidence rather than accepting the sort of nonsense that is intended to simply let right wingers play the victim card. (Ironic, given that it is usually those on the right who express such scorn for anyone who would see themselves as a victim.)

<off topic>Strangely enough, though a Spaniard, never been much of a wine-drinker much less a connoisseur, but I had a chance to try, on recommendation from the owner (place goes back almost two hundred years with the same bloodline) a Don PX Pedro Ximénez Gran Reserva 1971 and the experience, almost literally, left me breathless. Nectar of the Gods. Goes for about $ 90/100 € and it’s not easy to find…purchased a bottle at the restaurant itself which has an amazing collection all of its own.

Sipping after meal wine, made from raisins …better than any brandy I’ve ever tasted. Both the wine and the place are highly recommended. And if you’re fortunate enough to get a visit to the wine-cellar, as we did, you’ll simply leave the place mouth agape. Mind you, nothing is further than your typical tourist trap. On the contrary, word of mouth only, but you still need reservations well in advance…and like I said, going strong for almost two hundred years that way.</off topic>

Short and sweet: what the fuck “reputation” are you trying to protect Scylla? Long been a established fact that you’re a a few fries short of a Happy Meal. So don’t worry your perfect, narcissistic, swollen head about it.

Saw a glimmer of hope back some time ago, only to realize I was only fooling myself as to your ‘good intentions.’ In reality, you and your murdering cohorts are simply scumbags attempting against all evidence to be reasonable. But surely you realize you’re not fooling anyone other than yourself and your dogmatic (lunatic?) allies. Fortunately, day by day, people (Americans especially, most of the rest of the world saw the Iraq invasion for what it was long before it was launched. Complete and utter buullshit) such as yourself are on a steep downward spiral – to the point that your posts on this matter are close to worthless if not for their inherent malicious intent to provoke a response.

Attention whoring, trolling, inflated sense of self-importance? No matter. They are all part of the delusional aspects that led morons such as yourself to support this madness. As I said in the other thread, shocking as your way of thinking is (as expressed through your posts anyway), having read and interacted with you for quite a few years, one thing’s for sure, your dogmatic ideology trumps any common sense you might have left. Point being, you’ve been completely and utterly wrong from day one the Iraq debate started, and even if the facts prove as much, you’re simple unable to grasp those very facts. Why? Because, once again, they show how pig-headed and mistaken you’ve been from the get-go. Lather, rinse, repeat – your mind’s like a steel trap, anything gets in you disagree with, gets chrushed and mangled. Fuck reality.

Rubbing salt in the wound? You betcha. Least you deserve.

Ya think? Might it even be the best way?

Observe the Shodan. Neutron density asshole, his rectum has an event horizon. Observe date of joining. Do the math.

Is that anything like using phrases that don’t otherwise exist about events that never happened?LINK

CMC fnord!

:frowning: 6-2 Atlanta. Smoltz gave a sterling demonstration of just how a major league pitcher wins even without his best stuff.

Ah, back to business!

Cite?

I can’t prove something that just hasn’t happened yet. I have yet to see a conservative rag on a liberal around here. It just isn’t effective.

Bull. Shodan and Carol Stream, at the very least, exist only to insult liberals. I don’t think I’ve seen either one espouse any actual principles of their own. Neither one has been banned yet.

Dude, you are too dumb to be a conservative, and we know you are not a liberal. You must be a faciocommie.

it certainly should be obvious by now that ‘effectiveness’ of a policy/plan is not a requirement for a conservative, at least of the current administration.

If you have seen no conservative rag on any liberal, you are not paying attention.
ETA: (Yes, the odds are it more frequently occurs in the other direction, but it certainly goes both ways, depending on the posters involved). /ETA

As to “just hasn’t happened yet,” I would note that this board in this incarnation has been up for a full seven years. How long do we have to wait for this inevitable event to occur before we can conclude that it is unlikely, at best?

Well, the next six months will be crucial…

It’s happened. It’s happened many times. I remember it clearly. It’s a fact. Would somebody mind going and finding the cite for me?

(I’ve been staring at that post for two minutes wondering if it needs a disclaimer. If I don’t put one in it’s a sure thing some brain dead yahoo is going to get all indignant about it, or worse yet, crash the boards searching for it.

Takes something away from it, putting it in their, though.)

Ah, I have to blame a nasty cold for answering then what I thought you were getting into and not the item at hand. Thing is, even recently in Great Debates there have been several raggings disguised as debates against liberals or centrist democrats, Pelosy and others have been put to what it turned out to be exaggerations and points that deserved to be on the pit. Even so, the important thing to notice is that no one was banned for daring to do so.

To me those raggings will become more prevalent if a democrat becomes president, and I do think you are forgetting the past: I do remember when I began lurking that I though the SDMB was conservative because of all those anti-Clinton postings!

I just think that the apparent left turn of the board is because this administration constantly gives evidence for us to then torment it:

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/04/28/bush_official_resigns_over_escort_links/

Things seems to go badly for people that are praised by Bush…

oops:

http://www.news.com.au/sundayheraldsun/story/0,,21640281-663,00.html

I would not be surprised to eventually see some democrats in the list, but seeing mostly what has been named so far, it looks like the customers were mostly people that thought their absolute power would protect them until recently, not surprising if their party was pressuring prosecutors to ignore Republican peccadilloes like this one.

A life history of Shodan since he snapped and stopped actually posting to SDMB:

-posting about a vast conspiracy to rid the world of conservative ideas and a crackdown on folks like him, coming any day now
-one or two line drivebys that manage to demonstrate that he hasn’t read the thread and doesn’t know what its about, but he’s damn sure he has a lot of contempt for everyone that’s discussing it!

The End

Bullshit. Just plain old bullshit.

This board is just a microcasm of the decidedly unlovely political climate right now in the US–and the world, due to the jaw-dropping incompetence of the Republican leadership over the past near-decade. Much ballyhooed “conservative principles” unfortunately haven’t had a damned thing to do with what Bush/Rove have made of their time in power.

It’s a damned hard time to be a Republican right now because of the obscene travesty Bush/Rove has made of conservatism. Of course Republicans rode high when ‘their team’ swept into power. Politics on any side have a lot in common with team sports. Unfortunately a hell of lot more is at stake, and it hurts a hell of lot more when a political team turns out to be not only incompetent but diametricaly opposite of all those spiffy cheers and slogans.

Bush/Rove screwed the pooch, in technicolor and by the standards of their own loudly-touted principles. That doesn’t make conservatism wrong but sure as hell makes this particular bunch a target. See? Distinction. Conservatism and Republicans vs. team loyalty and excuses for what Bush/Rove has done.

If it ain’t easy right now on the board (small beer, really) it’s just the flip side of the near-hysterical accusations of treason and treachery some posters–not all by any means–leveled against anyone who even dared question the justification for invading Iraq, imprisoning people indefinitely without clear charges, surveillance of US citizens, huge growth of federal spending, perilous erosion in international credibility, etc. Not exactly ‘conservative’ in principle, huh?

Not the philosophy or the party but what this particular administration has done to them and with them, see?

Well, God knows nothing ever happened that didn’t happen on Google. Maybe you should begin documenting “recreational outrage” — just in case someone will care about your research four years after the fact.
