Completely random song lyrics

Since everyone seems to enjoying the movie quotes randomly, now you can post snippits of song lyrics.

Title and artist listing are optional on a completely random basis.
DO NOT POST COMPLETE SONGS! - there’s even a sticky or two about that, but it needs repeating just in case, right?

I’ll start:

*take the time to get to know me
if you want me why can’t you just show me
we’re always on this roller coaster
if you want me why can’t you get closer?

Must be something in the water they drink
It’s been the same with every girl I’ve had
Must be something in the water they drink
'Cuz why else would a woman wanna treat a man so bad?*

Since no one has called me out in this thread yet, I’ll post here.

*I was driving on the freeway in the fast lane
With a rabid wolverine in my underwear
When suddenly a guy behind me in the back seat
Popped right up and cupped his hands across my eyes

I guessed, “Is it Uncle Frank or Cousin Louie?”
“Is it Bob or Joe or Walter?”
“Could it be Bill or Jim or Ed or Bernie or Steve?”
I probably would have kept on guessing
But about that time we crashed into the truck*

I’ve waited too long to have you hide in the back of me,
I’ve cheated so long I wonder how you keep track of me.
You can never be strong, you can only be free,
and I’ve never asked for the truth, but you owe that to me.

Motorin’… what’s your price for flight? For findin’ Mr. Right? You’ll be alright tonight.

Smells like Teen Spirit, Nirvana

With the lights out it?s less dangerous
Here we are now
Entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now
Entertain us
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My libido

Pinball Wizard, The Who

He ain’t got no distractions
Can’t hear those buzzers and bells
Don’t see lights a flashin’
Plays by sense of smell
Always gets a replay
Never tilts at all
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a mean pinball

Should I bite my tongue?
Until blood soaks my shirt
We’ll never fall apart
Tell me why this hurts so much

And the men who spurred us on
sit in judgement of all wrong
they decide
and the shotgun sings the song

I was drowning in my sorrows
when my sorrows learned to swim

To anyone who’s listenin’
You’re not born into sin
The guilt they try and give you
Puke it in the nearest bin

Missionary maddness
Sweep up culture with a broom
Trashing ancient ways
Is par for the course
It’s fucking rude

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
Smells like a steak, and seats thirty five?

She blinds everybody with her super high beams
She’s a squirrel-squashin’, deer-smackin’ drivin’ machine

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lawd,
And when you ask them, “How much should we give?”
Ooh, they only answer’s More! more! more! more!

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It’s easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society’s pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he’s in.

Turn off your mind, relax
and float down stream

Now if a 6
turned out to be 9
I don’t mind
I don’t mind

moon hangs around
a blade over my head
reminds me
what to do before I’m dead
night consumes light
and all I dread
reminds me what to do before I’m dead

sun reclines, eats my mind
reminds me what to leave behind
light eats night and all I never said
reminds me what to do before I’m…

the sun reclines…remind me
the desert skies…remind me
the ocean wide salted red
reminds me what to do before I’m…

Drowning deep in my sea of loathing
Broken your servant I kneel
It seems what’s left of my human side
Is slowly changing in me

Looking at my own reflection
When suddenly it changes
Violently it changes (oh no)
There is no turning back now
You’ve woken up the demon in me

If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we’re all OK
and not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
and useless in times like these
I won’t be made useless
I won’t be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear

Bang! Bang! Knock on the door, another big bang, you’re down on the floor.
Oh No! What do we do?
Don’t look now but I lost my shoe.
I can’t run and I can’t kick.
What’s a matter babe, are you feelin’ sick?
What’s a matter, what’s a matter, what’s a matter you?
What’s a matter babe, are you feelin’ blue?

how’s that for random?

The song is by Eve6, I believe, but I can’t remember the name:

I burn, burn like a wicker cabinet
chalk white and oh, so frail
my stomach turns and I exhale…

Christ, you know it ain’t easy.

That reminds me…

Betty is in a wet t-shirt
feeling foolish and vain
lookin’ like some housecat
that got caught out in the rain

Lookin’ in the mirror
at this less than pretty picture
feelin’ ten years older now
and 50 bucks richer

Life is hard…

I’ve got a feeling
A feeling deep inside
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
I’ve got a feeling
A feeling I can’t hide
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

There’s blood in the streets
It’s up to my ankles
Blood in the streets
It’s up to my knee
Blood in the streets
In the town of Chicago
Blood on the rise and following me

The band is just fantastic
That is really what I think
And by the way
Which one’s Pink?

Does he ask you to tell him about the other loves you’ve had?
And when you try to change the subject does it make him mad?
Does he say he’s only being curious
And regardless it won’t make him furious?
Some things are better left unsaid
Take it from me
Some things are better left unsaid.

I bet your eyes aren’t really that blue
I think they’ve been airbrushed in by an artist who doesn’t care
And I bet your hair isn’t really that blonde
But isn’t it the way we wanted it to be
And I bet you don’t usually smile that much
Especially with someone like me
And I bet you really sweat
But none of this is what I want to say to you.

Special…you think you’re special, you do
I can see it in your eyes
I can see it when you laugh at me, look down on me and you walk around on me
Just one more fight about your leadership
And I will straight up leave your shi*
Cuz I’ve had enough of this, and now I’m pissed

This time I’m a let it all come out
This time I’m a stand up and shout
I’m a do things my way, its my way, my way or the highway

can I burn the mazes I grow?
can I? I don’t think so.
Barbra Manatee
You are the one for me
(one for me, one for me)
You came from up above
(up above, up above)
You are the one I love

Tight skirt, strawberry hair
Tell me what you’ve got, baby, waiting under there
Big green eyes that look like, son
They can see every cheap thing that you ever done

Solitude stands in the doorway
And I’m struck once again by her black silhouette
By her long cool stare and her silence
I suddenly remember each time we’ve met

Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I can’t wait till the morning has come
And I know now the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that you’re never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you
You just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me
That, you can’t hide …

I’m worth a million in prizes!

(Iggy Pop)

I don’t know what started these blasphemous rumors
but I think that God’s got a sick sense of humor
and when I die I expect to find him laughing

*Well the good old days may not return
And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn

I’m learning to fly but I ain’t got wings
Comin’ down is the hardest thing*
*Your beautiful
Baby its mutual
Well if your down then I’ll come down
Lets get on down to it

I aint to proud to beg
Come on lets bump and grind
All the way straight into bed
Your place or mine?*

In the mornin, in the evenin
In the nighttime, gotta have it
It’s a feelin I can’t fight it
You got me speakin another language
Bo, Habibbi, Nishtage’a
It’s official raise your glasses
Cause this party gonna go to Damascus

I’m not a savior, I’m not a saint,
I’m not an angel, I’m not that quaint.
Don’t need a preacher to be that wise,
don’t need a teacher, I’ve got my eyes…

-Eurythmics ‘You Hurt Me And I Hate You’ from We Too Are One

And I tried to believe it,
It was better without you.
But no, I’d give it all for you,
I’d give it all for you by my side once more.

-Jason Robert Brown, Songs for a New World
