I disabled ACPI in winxp at the advice of FDISK as seen in this post
no real problems (not sure if its more stable/faster) but I’m just wondering if there is any way for me to ENABLE ACPI. My comp. doesn’t shut down automatically and its getting a little annoying. I’ve searched through the device manager etc. but I cant find a way to swich back from Standard PC to ACPI.
Follow my instructions for disabling ACPI on an existing installation, but in reverse. Instead of choosing Standard PC as the driver to update to, choose Advanced Configuration Power Interface PC. That should do it.
Thanks FDISK. Actually that was my first idea, except the Advanced Configuration Power Interface PC is not an option. Now I only have Standard PC as a choice.
