Confessions of A Shirtaholic… The MMP

OK, supper was good but the dumplins need something - they’re way too bland. What should I add to my dumplins??

Dishwasher is washing. Clothes for AMVETS are on the front porch for tomorrow’s pickup. **FCD **finished the trim in the apartment kitchen and determined that he should be able to repair the flue damper. But we’re chillin’ for the night.

I had rice with teriyaki sauce for dinner.

Well, crap - I think I broke a filling. Gotta call the dentist tomorrow.

Crap.

MOOOOOOM dumplin’s are, well, boiled up dough, which is the definition of bland. You could try a little salt and some fresh ground black pepper in the dough. Or, if’n y’all are a bit more adventurous, a little cayenne pepper to liven ‘em up. Just a couple thoughts, dumplin’ wise. Ouchy on the filling!

Well, shoot! I thought I might get a spend the night night but ol’ y’all know who needs to be at work at six tomorrow mornin’ so he went to his place. Can’t say as I blame him cause from his house to his job is like three minutes but still… Oh well, tomorrow is Firday and we get to spend the weekend together.

I think it’s ice cream time.

I had beer at lunch and I am on my second …no third since I got home and it is only 4.35 here

Hallway closet sorted, steak marinating and I am about to chop up the butternut squash to roast. I am hungry.

I made an executive decision on the way home today - I’m taking off tomorrow! Yes, I still have packing to do, but I can finish it up on Monday. The worst part is that I still need to grocery shop, and get Thanksgiving meal goodies. :smack: Plus, my tummy has been rumbly all day long, and my sense of smell is turned upside down. All day long I thought I smelled garlic! Weird, eh? It’s probably just a “fresh” cold, but better safe than sorry, especially since Thanksgiving is next week.

Sorry about the filling, FCM. :frowning:

Well, today has been a seriously nonproductive day. As in I really couldn’t work up a good case of “I give a shit” to get anything done. All I wanted to do all day was sleep. I think my body’s trying to tell me something.

Poor Papa Tigs is grateful right now that his office is in a larger room that has a cypher lock on the door. DOD came out with a new edict yesterday that no external devices at all, ever, of any kind are allowed to be plugged into gummint computers without prior permission and several hours of hoop-jumping-through. That means no thumb drives, no cameras, no nuttin’. The hospital folks are screaming. He’s spent two days now hiding in his office making sure the barricades stay intact, and trying to sneak out to the bathroom without getting caught. It wasn’t his idea, but you can’t convince some people of that, so he’s the designated Person Who Shall Have Abuse Heaped Upon Him.

It’s times like this I’m glad my job is at home and the only folks I have to talk to are the dogs. And they only get upset if I forget snack time.

It sounds like my new grandkitty is adjusting beautifully! There are definite advantages to having been raised by Siamese cats, as I was and so made sure snowbunny was, too. I told my mother about Yum Yum/Sapphire sleeping in the exact middle of the bed, and she promptly started reminiscing about my childhood Siamese feline overlord, Princess, doing the exact same thing. I still remember the contortions I had to go through to roll over without disturbing her. She trained me WELL.

I worked all day, so nuked Green Giant veggies and Kroger deli chicken for dinner. Hockey tomorrow.

FCM, ouch!

It’s Five O’Clock somewhere

snowbunny, get a dog and a cat, then you’ll know the meaning of “not owning my bed”

My chorus in action

One of the most :eek: strange new non-words we got learned this week was a place where something didn’t “change type,” it “transited typology.”

When I hear “transit” I think intestinal…

This weekend I am going to Mom’s, as The Nephews (and their parental units) will be around. Last week they had three birthday parties, one of them out of town, so I was only able to see The Niece asleep in her pram and say hi to The Bathing Nephew (who couldn’t make up his mind between wanting to tell me too many things at the same time and arguing with his Dad). Next weekend shall be spent in My Flat. Since I had to be in the flat last Monday for the yearly gas inspection, I brought the scanner and left it there, to scan a bunch of stuff that’s been in the To Scan list for a while.

Are y’all all right? It’s Firday and we’re only on page 4!

Friday

Friday

Friday!!!

wild applause and catcalls

It’s snraining this morning and I’ve already slapped Stormydog in the face several times for jumping at my bedroom window and tearing the screen. That dog has a death wish, I swear.

*Snow and rain. Right now it’s just above freezing so it’s all melting but it’s still kinda slick out there. Glad I take the bus so I don’t have to drive in the Great Winter Panic out there.

Well, a couple of days ago I had a sore throat and runny nose. Now I’m getting the cough with the phlegm. Been taking Benedryl’s the past 36 hours with no success. I think I’m going to get some Dayquil tomorrow. I never get sick (annual) so this is making me irritable. Also, with the lack of sleep from my recent case of insomnia this doesn’t help much. Just hoping it doesn’t get worse. I usually have to go to a hospital when I get sick. Eghh!.. Maybe I have S.A.R.S!

Other than that I got my Maxim in the mail today!.. Should be good reading for tomorrow. Yes, I actually “read” Maxim.

Yeah.

There was supposed to be mountains and mountains of snow outside when I woke up. Not so much really. I mean, yeah, there’s still a couple inches from the other day, but nothing new or catastrophic.

I’m taking my time to get to the shop today. I have to prepare one lunch for 10 people and deliver it by 12:15. And it’s something terribly difficult like heat and eat soups* and wrap sandwiches. Not sure if I can handle it or not.
*No, I don’t usually make my own soups, so sue me. The ones that we buy are very tasty, though.

::Zooms by with hugs and stufff…::

blrf
off today - headed northeast for Mensa weekend and Famiy brunching
wish I’d gotten more sleep
See ya Sunday eve or next mmp.

:Hangs head: Yes, I’ve been in dereliction of duty :frowning: I promise to try and do better next week. Say, I’ll react to everything you say?

So, how you doin’?

Yes… but for what, exactly…?

Morning. Busy. Working on my day off. I feel like Doggio.

As far as I can tell this thread is about anything and everything but if I’m wrong and there’s a topic here to derail hopefully someone will tell me.

Yesterday I went down to a eucalyptus grove by the coast where monarch butterflies spend the winter. On a warm day there are hundreds of monarchs fluttering around and on colder days they hang in clusters like this. When they’re cold they keep their wings closed but when the sun hits them they start to open up.

You’re right on topic

Nice pics, too!

ETA: So, who’s next…?
