Confessions of A Shirtaholic… The MMP

Hi everyone… :waves:

You may or may not remember me but I used to post here a few months ago…then work got in the way, as did getting married twice etc etc and now my company is transfering me to Paris…fun fun fun but I have been reading occasionally!

I am a shoe person and a bedding person - I have been sorting closets ready for the move and I have a LOT of sheets and comforters etc

I also have 3 closets full of clothes I have to get through as well!

Oh, I’m the same way. You do realize of course the stores are on to us? There are always shirts “on sale.” My closet’s full of them.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Nice to see you stop by. So, will you be able to post more often from Paris? And what’s mr. ems going to do?

Hi newbies!!! ::waves enthusiastically::

Yay on FCM for the raise and the bonus!

Purty doggie, Smarty.

Added collard info to the blog…

I have shoes and sweaters, although I’ve gotten better at weeding out the extra sweaters. And sheets, too. Lots more sheets than I need.

Hugs for everyone who needs 'em.

GT

Sorry, I’m not transferring again. =^.^=

So next semester is all planned out - I’ll be going four days a week, but that’s what happens when you take 12 units. On my way back to my car, I passed a table about the Study Abroad program and took a flyer about Japan. I want to go so bad, but I don’t think it’s going to work out. I guess I’ll have to stick to my plan of joining the JET program and teaching English. I emailed housing again to find out when the bloody application would go up. Sheesh.
Awww… Bear’s CUTE. He’s sounds like a sweetie and a good dog.

I didn’t read the last two pages of last week’s mump. Did Nelly come home?

My current all time favorite shirt is the one I have on in this photo

Hello all. Swampy, I am a T-shirt-oholic. I have a few dozen witty T-shirts that I, um, grew out of some time ago. I’m keepin’ em til they fit again, dammit! I have not bought too many funny ones at my current size (whale) as many shops don’t make em that big. Fuckers.

To the ceramic knife person, I wouldn’t buy them. They will get chipped no matter how careful you are and you have to send them back to Kyocera for sharpening. Plus if you drop them and get unlucky they will break. Here’s a review:

http://www.reviews.ubr.com/cookware-reviews/ceramic-knives-review.aspx

I think you are better off with a well-crafted high-carbon steel blade, which won’t require frequent sharpening if you treat it right.

Tupug, courage, my dear!

Soapy, from last week, Vecchito’s has a shop in Soundview. That’s how the magic gets to the beach. And I have never made the oatmeal crisps with brown sugar because I don’t feel the need to mess with perfection. Just the kind of guy I happen to be. Please report back iffen you do try it though.

Mahna, I, um, liked your picture. (jams toe into ground and squirms, avoiding eye contact)

I think I speak for all the MMPer women, and a few of the men, that when you flirt with one of us, you must flirt with us all.

I’m waiting…

Glad to see you back-- I thought I scared you off with too much enthusiasm!

Today was entirely too busy. Stormydog chewed up Complicated Roommate’s glasses last night and he has to drive back across the state tonight. He can do it, but he’s going to have a nice migraine when he gets there. So it looks like Stormydog is going to go to the Humane Society. Mehe Roommate is accepting this, but it’s hard. :frowning:

Meanwhile I’ve been made property manager for Casa de la Roommates. Which means I get to clean the place up and beat people over the head with a stick if they don’t pay their rent up. I get paid for this.

I’m finally getting a few minutes to sit down and relax after running all over town. I just found out that a guy I went to grad school with has a website with his music on it. He’s pretty good actually, kinda acoustical folksy. I’m gonna have to check out one of his shows at the tea shop one weekend.

I have 2 1/2 weeks worht of clothing, but that’s because I’m too busy to wash more than twice a month. I did 5 loads at the laundromat today(Must buy dryer). Still no nelly.

Welcome, Kati!

Welcome back, mmmmmmmm!

Welcome back, Ellen!!

Sorry about Stormydog, spaz, Maggie and Nelly were both recycled, so do feel too bad.

Cute pup, Smarty.

HRH fell asleep at 5pm yesterday, meaning that she woke up at 4:38 this morning. Yawnnnnnn! Not enough caffeine in my system yet. I’m off to mainline some more coffee …

Evening folks - and an early morning for Dotty andHRH, apparently.

I’m in training for most of this week; High Performance Organization training today thru Wednesday and then financial services training on Thursday (off-site). The HPO training is interesting, but frankly there’s a lot about it that I’m not understanding. :frowning: The trainer loves to use flip charts and write/draw on them. Then he tapes the pages to the wall! At least I’ve got some buddies in there with me, and the financial services training will be with another co-worker/friend. Whew!

Welcome to all the new Mumpers and to the many returning ones as well! Smarty, the Bear is cute!

ems, of course we remember you! I’m so glad you stopped by.

Today was rather uneventful. We may have to replace the battery on my daughter’s car. I got the dreaded click-click noise when I tried to start it tonight. I hope it’s only the battery and not the starter.

Other than that, I got nuttin’. See you all tomorrow. Hugs and smooches to all.

Hi ems, nice to see you back again. When are you moving to Paris? What’s Mr ems going to do without you?

Doggio, sorry to hear Nelly hasn’t reappeared yet, perhaps she’s found her way into someone else’s house and she’s looking for an appropriate gift for you when she decides to return?

I am working four days this week, I get to take Thursday off because I’m going to a gift fair with my doting parent. Should be fun but I think it will be a lot of walking because it’s at the National Exhibition Centre which is a huge sprawling mass of exhibition halls. I still have seven days of leave to take, but I can carry over five days to next year which I can use for January’s Vegas trip, but that still leaves me two days to take in December. Plus I’m entitled to another day of flexi-leave as I’ve got enough hours built up for it if I take it in November, and I can have another two days in December.

Perhaps I’ll just get on with a bit of work instead.

Interesting morning… At about 4 a.m. I was awakened by barking dogs. I got up to find out what was going on and found that the garage door was wide open and the lights were on. Then I went downstairs to find that neither of my grandparents was here. My mom was supposed to be at work at 4 so I called her. There is lots of snow on the ground this morning and as she was driving to work she got stuck near the curve at the end of the street. So now my grandparents are driving her to work, presumably in my grandpa’s 4 wheel drive truck.

(Please forgive any grammatical errors, my brain’s not quite with it yet.)

/Hijack/

What is an MMP? I keep seeing this term but don’t have a clue what it means. Bugs the heck out of me!..

Thanks

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Time to get all ready for another day of makin’ customers happy. Or not. I’m good either way.

MMMMMMM’s! Good to see ya!

Levdrakon from henceforth to be known as Lev everytime you post up in here, it’s true. Every store always has a sale on shirts. They’re evil that way.

EpicNonsense welcome. You will soon have a nickname. MMP means Monday Morning Post. It’s a clearinghouse for great thoughts, idle chatter, sharing of recipes and whatever comes to mind we’re the MPSIMS within MPSIMS. In case you have not seen this yet, at ATMB there is a glossary of terms used on the board that might be helpful if you run into any other Doper phrases etc. you don’t understand in the future. 'Tis a good resource.

Yays, boos, hugs, congrats, woohoos, trout slaps etc. apply as needed.

Time for more caffiene, some brekkies and purtification for work.

Later Y’all!

Fun OP swampus, although with all of those shirts one would surmise that you wouldn’t have to fry your burly butcher bacon nekkid! Awww, you know you love me! :stuck_out_tongue:

db!!! What happened to Nelly? Many hugs and prayers for you both.

I am a wee bit befuddled, so please everyone else know that I think of you all as I read, but it slips out as quickly as it entered.

Life here has been, well, the normal chaos. The trip home (Wa.) was majorly eventful, the coming home (Ak.) equally so, and I am just beginning to be settled in my routine. The dark, cold days are upon us, so I find myself nesting and napping.

Lots of new people, although since I have slipped into sometimes-posts status I suppose I should just say that it will be fun to get to know you.

Bed time for me now, have a good Tuesday!

Today is a rare un-blurf. Two nights of sleeping on melatonin and benadryl have me feeling rather perky this morning.

I don’t have much else, but I will share a fun e-mail I got over the weekend.

caffeinating and ready to head to my training … laters!

Bobbio, those are funny! I love the old comics.

Nice to see everybody - the noobs, the part-timers, and the regulars! Happy Tuesday!

i’m trying to cheer myself up. I’ve lost my (I swear-to-Og-I-saved-it) work three times! Ok - the first time was my fault. We got an upgrade of our software over the weekend and I didn’t save it to the database, just to my hard drive. Whoops. The second time, I thought I saved it and checked it into the database. The third time, I know I saved it, but didn’t check it into the database.

This morning I open my work and nothing was saved. AARRRGGGGHHH! I’m about sick of this crap. Other people have had this problem, but I thought it was resolved with the last version of the software. Is the bug back? This sucks.

Ok, think happy thoughts. I’m off Friday and all next week. Woo-hoo!

Have a good day, Mumpers!
