The Congress and the legislatures of the several states; you know amendments. Interpreting the law is one thing, making it is quite another.
Reading a right to gay marriage, abortion, corporate donations to political candidates is basically writing the law as you think it should be not what it is.
(And before anyone brings up the Civil Rights movement, remember that a lot of the changes therein were brought by statutory law and amendments, like the Civil and Voting rights Acts and the 24th Amendment).
I don’t see how anyone can be comfortable with Trump as president. Especailly after looking at his cabinet choices of nutty and unqualified people— Flynn, Devos, Naverro.
And Naverro (Death of China) seemed to be chosen just so Trump could taunt the threaten the Chinese.
Trump’s Trade War talk about China alone makes me worry that he is going to tank the global economy and we will have a second great recession.
Also, Texas has the highest maternity death rate in the US. The maternity death rate is as high as a war torn third world country. This was because most of the planned parenthoods closed down. How may more states are going to become like Texas?
There was a thread about Trump’s first crisis. I think the first crisis will be the moment when someone or some entity with the power to fight back actually stands up to Trump’s bluster and puts him in a situation in which he either has to modify his behavior or double down to save face. It’s very possible that China becomes his first major test. But despite their bromance, I could easily see Putin being Trump’s nemesis as well – and the thought of those two squaring off and escalating tensions is terrifying.
They called it “unproven”. Which you could have said with only a few more strokes of the keyboard. But instead, you chose to leave the impression that they contradicted that notion, which they did not.
If you have some theory that might explain that more access to maternal health services is bad for maternal health, I’m sure we would love the opportunity to mock it. Otherwise, the reasonable presumption is obvious, that more access to such services is a good thing.
The rest of the world is pretty much aghast at the stupidity of your president now, and the fact that his fragile, child like ego can be manipulated so very, very easily. It is Trump and Trump voters who have done this.
Nice try at the “both sides are at fault”. It’s like blaming the firefighters for battling an arson fire, and saying that they are just as responsible as the asshole who set the fire, because the firefighters are now involved.
<Trump> No, you’re the puppet. YOU"RE THE PUPPET!"
</Trump>
The man is a walking, talking embarrassment. He’s now tweeting nuclear arms policy for God’s sake. He gets into twitter fights with magazines and TV shows like a teenaged girl. And yet the DEMOCRAT supporters are to blame for being disgusted with this man-child. Sure. Blame the fire fighters, rather than the arsonist.
Because most of you can still purchase decent Firearms (Legally) and get up to speed on Reloading Ammunition and Food Storage Long Term and get a little Tactical Training in with likeminded friends & Experts …
Everyone getting bent out of shape about Trump’s desire to ramp up the nuke program shouldn’t worry about a new arms race with Russia. It’s more likely that, what with Trump’s and Putin’s backdoor friendship and common desire wipe out Islamic Bad Guys, any ramp up would be in coordination with each other, not opposition. So rest easy, guys!
It just may be that we’re not too far from these two nations announcing a Joint Global Defense Initiative in an effort to snuff out those Islamic Bad Guys. And after months (years?) of whipping people into a frenzy over “Radical Islam,” and bans on Muslims, and ambassadors being assassinated by Turks, all of the deeply fearful would welcome this brute strength on display for their comfort and peace. Could you imagine these two guys teaming up their nuclear arsenals to combat their common global enemy? Well, to quote Director Krennic, “The power that we’re dealing with here…is immeasurable.” And Trump’s just malleable enough for Putin to convince him how epic (and enriching) this would be.
Just a random thought crossing my mind between Christmas carols today. Merry Festivus!
And this makes Trump a mature, responsible person how? Ponder on Trump wanting to re-start the nuclear arms race, for no reason other than that’s what spewed out of his mouth-hole the other day. Ponder billions of dollars borrowed and spend on more useless nuclear weapons, all because Trump is a fucking idiot.
Don’t need any alternatives. The federal government has no constitutional authority to provide or mandate health insurance. SCOTUS dropped the ball on that one by declaring it to be a tax.
Yep. Hopefully, his directions in office will be to preside over the closing of the doors of the EPA, which is just one of many, many government offices that need to be shut down.
