I am heavily considering donating my eggs and have been reading up on the procedures and so forth. I’m curious if any other Doper women have done this and what their experiences were, so please share your stories!

No experiences to share, but a question for you to consider: How would you feel if do this, and in just a few years from now your genetic offspring attempts to track you down? There are stories all over the news right now about kids (teens and younger) tracking down their sperm donors via the internet, so I wouldn’t be real surprised if it’s that easy to find egg donors too. There’s even a story on AOL about it today.
I’d be fine with my genetic offspring tracking me down, or deciding not to, as the case may be. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the ethical considerations and discussing them with my family.
Just out of curiosity, when you say “donate” do you mean “sell?” If you’re getting paid it’s not a donation. maybe you really are considering donating your eggs for free but I constantly hear the selling of eggs referred to as “donating” and it drives me nuts.
